Domaine Billaud-Simon

Tête d'Or Chablis Chardonnay 2016

🏅 Rating 89/100 (3,9⭐)

Ripe and solar, floral with orchard fruits. Full malo milky aroma. Slight presence of oak. Lovely acidity, minerality. Citrus finish.
Would be great if it had just a bit more concentration on mid palate and longer finish. But wait, that would have been 1er Cru )) Actually this cuvee is a blend of the best sites owned by Domaine in Chablis appellation, many of which just next to 1er Crus.

La Syrah de Simon

Complex and light Syrah. Enjoyed with some greasy cheeseburgers. Was delicious. — 2 months ago

Savigny-les-Beaune Pinot Noir 2017

Fresh tannins that back up the bright red fruit. Could probably use another couple of year for it to come together, but easy drinking and will be a favorite as the summer weather sets in. — 2 months ago

"Aux Grands Liards" Savigny-lès-Beaune Pinot Noir 2016

Black fruit with a bit of an earthy undertone. Can drink early if you want a young pinot with good structure and some tannins or you can let this age a while to let it round off a bit and enjoy the development and complexity of the earthy and mineral notes. — a month ago

Aux Vergelesses Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2013

Wonderful nose. Red currant, raspberry, light cinnamon bark, white pepper and lavender. Tannins are still really holding on. Acidity rushes down the sides of the tongue. The palate is more red currant and cranberry (a drying read fruit), fruit leather, white pepper and tree bark. I wish I had more to see how this developed, but driving very well now. Paired very well with lamb. — a month ago
