Black olive, burnt bacon, rosemary and herbs. Bold, dense body but the alcohol seems to lift it up easily. Mandatory lamb or steak. — 9 months ago

Dark berry, peppered beef jerky, spice, earth, little iodine, nice acid. Yum! — 2 years ago
Pop and pour. Notes from 4 hrs open. On the nose: freshly cut honeysuckle, then loads of flowers, mint, soft honey and wet stone. On the palate: excellent acidity, wet stone, ginger, medicinal herbs, fantastic density. Better than my last btl...definitely one of my condrieu standards. Yum! — 5 years ago
Easter dinner rose, drank pretty well! — 6 years ago
Not a rose fan. Not an ice wine fan, but this is delicious. Not too sweet, off dry and just yummy. — 7 years ago
Opened just prior to dinner. The 2008 Coteau de Vernon pours a deep straw color with medium viscosity. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of peach cup with the pears and cherry too. There’s white flowers, honey, fresh mint and other herbs too. Wow! On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and oily. This bottle came across young. A benchmark Condrieu. Drink now through 2038. — 3 months ago

Basket of fresh black and red fruits, smoky notes, roasted, charcoal, pepper, violet. The nose suggests a little residual sugar, except it will turn out to be very dry in the mouth. Supple and beautiful creaminess, the texture in the mouth is beautiful. Côte-Rôtie style. Superb for its price.
— 3 years ago

After my discovery of Coteau du Vernon from Vernay this Condrieu from Gangloff has been the star of the night. Aromatically explosive on the nose with notes of honeysuckle and peach. In the mouth alcohol is happily controlled for a 2015 ouf! super equilibrium with pot pourri and peach. A jewel of a wine unfortunately they do not make much of it. — 7 years ago

Last bottle of this really good Rhône red. Been about a year since I’ve had it. Red fruit forward, but not jammy. Raspberry, dried herbs, black pepper. Medium-long finish with tartness and a little astringency. With mushroom kale quiche and side salad. — a month ago
