Magical elixir-level wine. I was shocked at the quality when I opened this, even compared to the previous 3 bottles I’ve had over the years. Sometimes you catch the right bottle at just the right time, I guess.
The nose is truly a bouquet of just-mashed apples, honey, acacia, pressed yellow flowers, raspberries, and about a dozen different florals I can’t even begin to identify. Yellow raspberry coulis on the palate. Palate is pretty close to perfection in my book- satiny, ever so slightly sweet. Pair with lobster, or just ogle over it on its own. Devastated that this is my last bottle. — 24 days ago
Nose has honey, honey, honey, warmed honey, honeycomb, white flowers, waxy green pear, waxy limestone, orange blossom, candied pineapple, bruised yellow apple, over-ripe green apple with excessive tree hang, resinous oak and (light) green banana peel.
Palate has honey glazed orange peel, dried lime zest, candle wax, honey drizzle over candied pineapple, lime wedge, dry red clay, lemon poundcake and chamomile tea, but the level of acidity is amazing, like lime orchard honey! WOW! Finish runs 2m+ and lingers longer.
100% Romorantin, best bottle of this one ever! 🤯
More amazing, 3-pack buy (last bottle 😭) in Jan 2010, $17!

This is a very tasty Syrah from Mendocino County, California.
Showing black fruits with oak, vanilla, chocolates, tobacco, spices, barnyard, earth, light vegetables and peppercorn.
Dry on the palate with nice complexity and mouthfeel.
Nice finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.
This 100% Syrah is good right out of the bottle, and better after 3 hours of airtime. Tannins show up after a couple of hours.
Good by itself or with food. I paired it with a charcuterie board of meats, cheeses and fresh berries.
14% alcohol by volume.

Everytime I somehow recall an underwhelming tasting of Lumpp and I open one and then it's oh this is really good! That Burgundian autumnal Forest floor and leaves and ripe black berries and fruit. Good texture balanced acidic complex palate carrying to finish. Great with amahs hock. Faith restored — 12 days ago
