Cuvée Frédéric Emile Alsace Riesling 2011

I was surprised how youthful this is. A wonderful compote nose. In the mouth waves of honey, lemon , apples , and spice.. Full body but not fat. A very extended finish. — 24 days ago

Les Fuées Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2013

2013 at top level continues to drink fabulously, and Mugnier’s Fuées, a magical vineyard and essentially a southern extension of Bonnes Mares, is stunning today on pnp (although last sips were the best) wafting layers of sweet strawberry-rhubarb, sous bois, rose petals, game and smoky minerals. It’s liquid velvet in the mouth with an energetic spine of cool minerality and balanced acids adding freshness and focus to its delivery. It’s simply a beguiling combination of power and elegance and a superb expression of the vintage. — 2 months ago

Chablis Chardonnay 2021

Pale yellow in color; lemon zest, honeysuckle, and lemon grass on the nose; high acidity; tastes like lemons, starfruit, saline, and a hint of passion fruit with a long finish. Leo likes it, and I do too. — 6 days ago

Chambolle-Musigny Pinot Noir 2014

Very closed initially. This was still improving as we ran out of wine. Seemed almost stemmy compared to the Fourrier but Mugnier de-stems everything… — 6 months ago

Clos de la Maréchale Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2015

A wine I have purchased every year since the 05 vintage. This vintage is more open, approachable that had rich dark cherry, berry fruit, savory spice, underbrush, mineral & violet. — a month ago

Les Amoureuses Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2006

. Wow. An unusual dark berry with subtle Indian spice that is both bold and elegance emerges to win the day. This 1er Cru is just entering a nice drinking window and could rest another 30 years. Lovely juice. — a month ago
