I really enjoyed the complexity of this wine. Maybe it’s because they use 100% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes and bottle unfiltered. Flavor profile includes blackberries, raspberry, and an earthy finish.
if you have a chance to enjoy a bottle, don’t hesitate.

🤯 still surprisingly youthful and oh so complex! If you get the chance drink this wine! — 6 years ago
A generous gift from Dr Mark for my Cabernet Tasting. Sure it’s a wine which will live for decades more, but it is also a treat to try it at 24 years of age if you get the chance. From the excellent 1996 vintage. A rich dark crimson in colour - dense - hinting at the opulence to come. Aromatic heady perfumes with ripe black fruits, cedar and violets. The palate was rich and decadent and very long - full bodied with silky smooth tannins. What an experience! Sublime. A few bottles in the cellar would be nice. — 6 years ago
Recently went to tasting featuring bunch of “TheCalling” Wines. Tasted this ‘14 Pinot 2yrs ago-developed nicely. Sports commentator Jim Nantz & wine guru Peter Deutsch met by chance at CT restaurant, each having dinner w/friends. Jim had a passion for wine and was exploring the next step when Peter stopped by the table, that meeting started a collaboration. Ruby with berry fruit aromas and complex spice. On the palate cherry with vanilla oak and pepper spice. Lingering finish ending with cacao & oak notes. — 7 years ago
I have wanted to try this wine for a while, and I finally got my chance. It is spectacular. Finesse personified. Chocolate, black currants, blackberries, lavender, and a hint of cedar and tobacco. — 3 days ago
A welcome addition to our wine tasting at our 2025 Christmas party! Very big and bold. Well, structured and smooth.! — 6 months ago
We have one or 2 left; and I hope each shows as well; teeth staining, palate coating black cherry and raspberry wonder that left us fighting over the last drops — 4 years ago
A very complete nose of brioche, citrus and apple pie. In the mouth air is needed to really give this a chance to strut its stuff. Prominent but not overwhelming acid at first but an hour of air makes this as round as a beach ball. The palate starts to duplicate the nose with an hour or so of time. Another positive ‘08 champagne ,with upside from here. — 6 years ago
In its prime. I didn’t decant for fear of shocking it, and that was the right move. Pop it now if you have it because it’s a beauty from stem to stern. The nose pours out of the bottle with all kinds of flavors and expressions- pencil lead being a primary- but as it had a chance to breath and express itself it blossomed. Lush yet powerful, naturally as it’s blend would indicate it reminded me of some of what I like so much about Bordeaux. — 6 years ago
This is the bottle I opened but not the wine I’ve had! Totally faked or doctored.
I’ve had enough of this wine and comparable Bordeaux’s to know this was not right.
Probably an over the hill (2000-2004) Australian or California Cabernet that is over oak’d, fruit forward, from a mediocre producer. Outside chance it’s a Spanish Priorat.
Wine actually wasn’t bad, but not as advertised!! — 7 years ago
Crazy fun! This is a chance of a lifetime! — 2 months ago
2009 vintage. Cabernet Sauvignon (59%), Merlot ( 38 %) and Petit Verdot (3%). The Belgian Bonnie family purchased this cru classé in 1997 and invested heavily to improve the quality. This 2009 is an outstanding effort, with cassis, blackberries, spices and cigar box fighting for your attention. In the mouth it is dense, with layers of very ripe ( but not jammy) black fruits, powerful, yet smooth tannins, and a very long finish with typical Pessac-Léognan spiciness. Abv. 14%. Highly seductive now, but no hurry to drink this. — 4 years ago
Tagged “Proprietor’s Reserve,” the wine is entirely from the small Last Chance vineyard and is a numbered bottle. Mine was Number 48. Pale garnet; pronounced intensity aromas of black cherry, fresh herbs, violets, High acidity, low velvety tannin, sour cherry, violet, very clean lingering finish. outstanding quality. Will improve with further age but delicious now. A stunning wine. — 6 years ago
Bright and acidic red fruits up with very unexpected old world flavors in the secondary palate. I took a chance and only purchased 2 bottles last year, I wish I bought more! Highly recommend, a great counterpoint to typical US Pinots. — 7 years ago
Excellent! Nice toffee , smooth finish wonderful gift from Rachel and Brian — 7 years ago

Unfortunately, the label was too compromised to read the vintage, but the wine was wonderful. — a month ago
