Reliably consistent introductory Red Burgundy. Bright garnet/ruby color. Aromas of fresh red fruit with hints of red flowers and subtle spices. Flavors of red berry fruit (strawberry, raspberry and currants) with additional flavors of red licorice,baking spices and earth. Long, crisp and fresh finish. No sign of oak aging. Medium bodied with a very silky tannin structure. Granted, it lacks the complexity of high end Red Burgundy, but this wine’s fruit forward simplicity is charming. 2020 vintage. 375 ml bottle. Tasted after 30 minutes open. Medium body. Some ripeness buttressed by remaining acidity. Had picked up 5 cases of this 2.75 years ago with a dearth of white Burgundy half bottles due to the truncated 2021 and 2022 vintages. Down to a case. Not a fave producer but they often deliver in the absence of other, potential offerings. Showing well currently. 5.31.26. — 5 months ago

Tasted blind. Again medium deep ruby with medium wide garnet rim . Again slightly aloof , showing a touch of herbaceous blackcurrant , mineral and slate notes . Probably the most closed of all coming back . Quite deep and rich again , mineral , blackcurrant, wet stones . Muscular tannins and balanced acidity , deep with a slight herbaceous touch on the decent finish . Latour ? Compared with the rest this is slightly pedestrian, even though it is still an excellent wine it’s not as thrilling as its Pauillac stablemates Lafite or Mouton. Perhaps needs even more time , come back in 5 years and will last well a further 10 -15. — 18 days ago

2021 vintage. Decanted and passed, with high air, between two decanters four times. If it were Caymus, woulda used a blender and forgotten. Last tasted 8.5.26 (9.6) Older (60's, 70's and early 80's) vintages more fruit driven which is quite the surprise in the current Napa Cab climate. Arguably the best GDL Private Reserve this estate has ever made. That goes back six decades. Supple, velveteen entry without the temptations of appearing over-extended. Structured mid-palate. A seeker's wandering, yet undeniably substantial finish. Taste it and you tell me. — 10 days ago

We had the 2012 vintage on 9/27-28/26. A nice CndP. Scents of black fruit and the garrigue— the herbaceous scent. Medium to full bodied. Tastes of blackberry, plum, kirsch and all spice. Long finish. Tannins all smoothed out. Still a good wine. — 21 days ago
