A surprising lighter style Pauillac for an 05 but @ £90+ it’s in a nice place, but a touch disappointing compared to others such as the amazing 2000 😁

70% Sangiovese, 20% Cab S and F, 10% Merlot for me this is an amazing wine. Picked it up at the Mercado in San Remo without any knowledge. Paired it with a perfectly grilled cotoletto Bavarese. The wine is coffee, milk chocolate, dark ripe fruit in the nose. The palate very balanced in fruit, acid and a bit of wood. Perfect now from a 375 bottle. — 6 months ago
Still drinking the 89 while storing at temps rainging from 50 to 90 degrees F for the last 22 years. 2 bottles left. Not one bottle in all thes years was less than perfect. I would rate it as a 98.5, but, i am no expert. I have had great assulase, tokaji aszu and chateau d'Yquem but, for the price i paid (20$/bottle), it far exceeds the others. It is now a medium amber color complex fruity tones great finish. I feel sad when the last drop leaves my teast buds. I also have a few of the 90's to us as a comparison. They are a distant second. — 7 years ago
Nicely evolved Figeac @ £100 that’s a bit overpriced but nevertheless a yummy drop 😎 4.25⭐️

Bright and a tad hot. Some pepper/spice. Cherry cola with soft tannins and a TON of acidity. Almost an effervescence which never hurts my feelings. Smells candy sweet but drinks with a bit more maturity. — 3 years ago
I very rarely say this for an expensive wine but this Graves is worth every penny @ £117+ as it will just kept getting better & better but is already divine 😍

Hints of pepper and spice. Fruit forward and slightly jammy. Acidity hits nicely in the finish. — 5 months ago
