might be my favorite wine of the entire trip. right bank finesse and elegance, a ton going on here on the palate. enjoyed two glasses over several hours and a pleasure to watch this wine unfold. gorgeous.

Medium to full bodied. Very nice perfume on the nose. High toned and interesting. Lots of detail and precision. Crème de cassis, currants, espresso and a touch of herbs at the end. Lovely vibrant core through out and a weightless sensation on the palate. Very classy.

Headline news “Chateau-Figeac continues its 31 year streak of no bad bottles”. Really, Figeac never disappoints and always shines. Just because with family out and glad we did.

Мы разогнались. Второй бутылкой решили, что будет тоже chateau Figeac, но уже 2015 года. На этом настояла супруга Сергея Говца. В этот раз декантировали примерно полчаса и по ощущениям вино было точной копией 2007 года. Расходиться не хотелось. Но третей Figeac не было.

Plush, velvety smooth, with black & red fruit flavors.

16.5+/20 (91+/100) Темно-бордовое, абсолютно непрозрачное. Закрытый аромат: шоколад и чёрные ягоды, есть тон черноплодки. Тельное с высокой кислотностью и интенсивными, вяжущими танинами. Насыщенное во вкусе. Есть ощущение, что это будет бомба, но не сейчас. #annualclarettasting

Buy now and don't open for 20-30 years (at least!). But still super tasty now.

I’m not sure what to say here. All of the reviews and scores talk about a classic but I didn’t feel it. This was nice and of course it’s not at it’s potential but I’ve had Bordeaux which is young but shows class early and you can see the journey it will take but I couldn’t see this here. Tried over two days and gave plenty of air but just wouldn’t open up. Definitely better with food (hard cheese). Herbs, toast, some limited fruit, smoke and leather. Tannins are not aggressive but not really integrated leading to a shallow finish. Sorry to swim against the tide.

I 💗 Figeac & as one of the top wines of 2015, that I paid £110 for but now £200+ as it’s a 98-100 pointer, I couldn’t wait to pop one 😊
