This wine has a greenish gold tint in the glass. The nose offers plenty of minerality, from wet sidewalk to limes. The palate is similarly blessed with savory salinity as well as a racy acidity. Notes of pear, stone fruit and Meyer lemon also appear, but are more subdued. The finish is quite long and tart. Pair with shrimp or crab, or simply enjoy a sip or two. Here’s a cool one: Picotener is a sub-varietal of Nebbiolo that actually performs better than the average in more extreme conditions. This is an experimental wine and it’s a home run in my eyes. You can taste the youth on the vines, but when it picks up, I can totally see this being a new age version of my favourite grape for the future. Has a lot of the flavour characteristics that I love about Nebbiolo (roses, cigar box, cherry), but a more youthful fruitiness. Im a fan. Hope it catches on. — 5 years ago

Wine is deep garnet. Smells like violet, decomposed bramble and slate. Immense aroma. Overwhelming. On the palate violet, cherry and strawberry. Elegant hermes leather and a touch of wet slate. Quite delicious. It wants to be a refined Sangiovese but it's more than that. Quite nice. — 4 years ago
