Echézeaux Grand Cru Pinot Noir 2008

Muito jovem e primário, e curiosamente mais parecido com um bom Volnay do que com o que eu espero de um bom Eche — 2 months ago

Love this wine. One of the finest wines in St. Joseph. Nose is luxurious aromas of camphor, blackberry, granite, flowers, superb granite, wow really jumps out at you. Smells like it’s gonna be thick. Oh and yes it is but it is minbendingly elegant. So pure, so young, so much more to say but it is all there. A stunning stunning wine. The aromas are so layered and also thick in a way. Just incredible stuff. I love the Darnaud style but @Matthew Cohen does not. Awesome concentration and purity but this needs 2-3 hours of air. I’ll be back.

9.4 to 9.6 overnight. Huge leap. Unreal balance, clarity, energy and purity. This gains “IT” overnight. A superstar. Very exciting wine.

Terres Macônnaises Mâcon-Villages Pinot Noir 2017

Magnificent junction between Burgundy and Beaujolais, with this light red, floral, red fruits, gamay (?) that pinote splendidly. Bright acidity, finely persistent tannins; perfectly the type of wine that my palate loves.

Pop and pour yesterday. On the counter, unrefrigerated, overnight. On the nose: so savory: olive brine, charred gamey meat, dried blackberry, smokey bbq. On the palate: a touch less acid and thinner than I remember, but lovely blackberry with great salinity and gamey meat; I imagine venison in a blackberry reduction.Still some serious tannin rounds things out. Sad this is my last btl. — 3 months ago

One of, if not, the best Crozes. Dark and red berry fruit on the brooding nose. Granite and sappy olives. Really expansive and clean. The top cuvee of 3 Crozes at Darnaud from the oldest vines. Layered, elegant nose. Truly elite. Palate is juicy and so balanced with sleek red and black berry and cherry fruits. Succulent. Dense and chewy but super energetic. Awesome concentration and power. Amazing tannins pumping juicy pure fruit to the super mineral and olivey finish. Young and can only improve.

Greatly improved overnight. 9.5 to 9.6. Amazing elegant wine with just unreal granite infused dark fruit and so pure and balanced. This is one of the finest Crozes I’ve ever had.
