Blood-brown body forms a xanthic head of ancient candle showing curb-snipe color and death bed neglect. Pumpkins died here ,but were reanimated by caffeine and punk rock. Cappuccino comes through in head tone and cobra manifestation. Slimy toad skin under lacing braces the snakes and wind blown sands above. Strong chicory and chocolate-coffee bean entry creamy just below the leather. Dried chile turns, with the gentle push from a licorice spider leg, into a black mushroom-cinnamon dark roast coffee bean in a cedar spoon. Black pepper peeps through almond eyes. Snare it prepare it and drain it dry.

The last time I had this was at The French Laundry trying to convince someone to support a nonprofit I love. The subsequent gift was generous but, somehow, underwhelming. This wine is like that. A great vintage, a great vineyard, in great hands, but it had so much more potential. I’m not whining about a 97-point wine; I’m lucky to enjoy it. But it could’ve been even more. — 10 months ago

Elysian Phaze Dust Imperial Hazy IPA
Golden to antique-gold base, loopy head of white reflecting said. Galactic nebulae suggesting horse heads in clover beds. Banana and pineapple lead the tropical bouquet with marigold and cherry side swipes. Orange, lemon, tangerine, lime and sticky nettle inundates. Lively mouthfeel marries the piney bits to the lemon and adds grapefruit in abundance, stinging the taste buds, and blinding them to the supernovae of lime and lemongrass and green mango to follow. There is cantaloupe bobbing like a rogue planet in the cosmic soup, and seed-bitter citrus background radiation, but the core of pineapple remains. Nice interstellar sojourn.

After some air, bouquet really opens up. Lemons mist, lavender fields, grapefruit zest.
