On the nose black cherries, cooked strawberries, plums, licorice, coffee, spices, oak, dark chocolates, black pepper, tobacco leaf, vegetables, earth, light barnyard and light balsamic reduction.
Full bodied with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked cherries, oak, vanilla, spices, earth, vinaigrette, tobacco, herbs, dark chocolates and peppercorn.
Medium plus on the finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.
This is a tasty red from Italy. Showing nice complexity with a nice mouthfeel. A little oxidized on the nose, though.
This 9 year old is still drinking nicely, but was probably better a year or two ago. If you have one, drink it now.
Alcohol is nicely integrated by now. Tasty and rich, very tangy and extracted.

A very interesting color of yellow, with an orange tint.
Strong nose of over ripen apples, Indian spices, melons, minerals, honeysuckle, white pepper and cooked lemons.
Medium plus in body and buttery, with medium plus acidity.
Medium sweet on the palate with ripened citrus fruits, lemons, honey, yellow apples, apricots, tropical fruits and white pepper.
Nice length on the finish with spices and limes.
This is a nice surprise. A delicious 12 year old Riesling from Washington State. Rich and expressive.
Nicely balanced with enough acidity to balance the sugars. Delicious by itself and the tangy finish makes it interesting.
Although it is still very enjoyable, it is on the decline now, and was probably better a few years ago.

Beautiful nose of blueberries, black plums, cooked cherries, oak, light licorice, earth, chocolates, tobacco leaf, light must, peppercorn, raisins, herbs, dried figs and light alcohol.
Full bodied, smooth and elegant, with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry and very fruity on the palate with black currants, sweet plums, cooked cherries, oak, light vanilla, spices, tobacco, peppercorn, espresso, chocolates, earth, herbs and licorice.
Spicy long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.
This 14 year old Amarone is still delicious, with a beautiful color and a great nose. Tangy and very spicy.
Elegant and fruit forward. Easy drinking and good right out of the bottle.
Will not last much longer, so drink up if you have one.

Pretty nose of cherries, blueberries, wood, earth, spices, tobacco leaf, chocolates, metals, acetone, wet leaves, leather, forest floor, mushrooms and light black pepper.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity and nice legs.
Dry on the palate with cherries, red currants, oak, stewed strawberries, earth, light vegetables, tobacco, dark coffee, licorice, spices, forest floor and black pepper.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and cherries.
This is a nice surprise. A very enjoyable 14 year old red wine from Spain. Drinking very nicely now with nice complexity and mouthfeel.
Needs an hour to open up properly and show nice structure and tannins. Tasty and easy drinking.

Time for a nicely aged Moscato for #AgedWineTuesday.
This is a delicious 14 year old, Moscato from Paso Robles. Showing ripen apples and citrus fruits, cooked oranges, honey, melons, tropical fruits, peaches, light vanilla, bananas, apricots, guava, tangerines, mediterranean spices and black pepper.
Sweet on the palate and nicely balanced, with high acidity to balance it out.
Full bodied with great complexity and a nice mouthfeel.
Long finish with tangy lemons.
Loved the nose, but the palate is much more interesting and tasty. Usually it's the other way for me.

This is a delicious 9 year old Petite Sirah from Lake County. Very tasty with a lot of chocolate notes. Nicely balanced with nice complexity.
Good right out of the bottle, and did not need much to open up. Peaking now.

Full bodied with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry and very fruity on the palate with blackberries, black currants, cedar, earth, vanilla, licorice, spices, chocolates, tobacco, mocha, coke, peppercorn, pencil lead and dark coffee.
Long finish with round tannins and tangy cherries.
This is a delicious Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley. Showing nice complexity with a nice mouthfeel.
Good right out of the bottle, and better with airtime.
This 6 years old is still young, but already enjoyable. Will continue to age nicely in the next 5 to 10 years.
This is from a great vintage and it is showing beautifully right now.
Nicely balanced and fruit forward.
Loved the nose once it opens up.
Needs a couple of hours to open up properly, so be patient.

Medium finish with round tannins and tangy raspberries.
This is a great surprise. This 16 year old Spanish red is drinking very nicely now.
Showing nice complexity with an elegant mouthfeel. Alcohol is very integrated by now, although very high.

This is a nice surprise for #MerlotThursday.
Pretty color of dark ruby with a wide brick rim.
On the nose, red currants, plums, blueberries, cherries, vanilla, black tea, tobacco leaf, light vegetables, cedar, licorice, mint, spices, vinaigrette, earth and black pepper. Really lovely nose.
Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity.
Dry on the palate with black currants, plums, cooked cherries, oak, vanilla, licorice, spices, tobacco, dark chocolates, espresso, black tea and peppercorn.
Medium finish with medium plus tannins and pomegranates.
This 8 year old is still drinking nicely, although past its peak. Showing nice complexity, especially on the nose. Tangy and very easy to drink, with a nice mouthfeel.
Good right out of the bottle and better after 90 minutes of airtime.

This 11 year old is peaking now and showing nice balance. The nose is just gorgeous once it opens up.
Not from a good vintage, but it held up pretty well.
Delicious right out of the bottle, and better with airtime. Tannins show up after 30 minutes in the decanter.
