Things of nature don’t usually exist in glowing magenta.
Cruse’s 2020 Valdigue Noveau is an ode to the Nouveaus of Beaujolais.
Like the others, his starts bubbly, fruity, carbonic. Gets interesting with a detour to raw, stemmy, rosemary woods. Finishes tart - cranberries and cedar dust. — 5 years ago
Dust, berries, dust - this is what this smells of.
Bright berry juice with big minty herbaceous tarragon. Medium bodied, yet on the lighter side, with very dusty mouth encompassing tannins. Like tannin turns into 1,000,000 little hints of tannin and displace themselves all over.
Negative remarks for wax. No one wants to dull their wine tools with a wax encapsulation. No one wants to put a wine with this flaw on their list, as it’s too finicky to open in service. — 7 years ago

Howell Mountain dust and Napa Bench fruit. What a combo. This wine just screams well integrated fruit and minerals. This only happens in two places the other being left bank Gironde. Well done. — 8 years ago
First and foremost I’ll say that this was perfect with tonight’s Thai dinner. That said I would have been happy even if this wine simply yielded the ‘usual suspect’ nuances like slate, green apple, menthol, and succulent white flowers (which it did). However, I found that once the chill of the wine had worn off and it had drifted off into the recesses of ambient temperature it began to offer subtle yet pronounced notes of Fruit Loops. Not just Fruit Loops, mind you, but the cereal dust that remains once the last full bowl-full has been dished out. You know, the dust that, upon being poured into the milk, immediately dissolves and turns your milk into a paradise of flavor. I was all smiles when I caught this note about 30 minutes into the bottle. Nailed it. — 8 years ago

Tastes like a high quality white Burgundy. A profound wine of power and beauty. Blew all other 10 Gutedels/Chasselas‘s out of the water. Although my co-Tasters from Baden did not agree because his style and vinfication is different. Reductive. Quite stinky nose which blows off. Awesome, especially the next day. Hazelnut, plenty of acid, marble dust, lime, hint pine needles. Some tannins. Build to last. This is great! At a friends house in Freiburg im Breisgau. — 4 years ago

Garnacha blanca 100%
6 hectares of vineyards are located at altitude of 460 meters, on northeast slope. Age of vines is above 25 years. Autochtonous yeast. 4 months in cement reservoirs sur lie without battonage. Organic wine.
Pale colour.
On the nose: green apple, pear, lime, wheat sticks, wild flowers. Later some honey notes, blossom dust, gravel, hot sand, caramel. Beautiful evolution of bouquet.
Bright on the palate, with crispy acidity and light bitterness, with tones of lemon zest and apple pit. Spicy finish.
Interesting wine. Probably, 'sur lie' aging helped to reach complex bouquet, but some bitterness occurred, and wine became less smooth. Optionally, one can cool down the wine pretty well, but that's a kind of trade-off - in this case rich bouquet would be lost.
But hey, that is not a top wine of this winery production! They produce better wines like 'El jardin de las iguales' (which I haven't taste yet... unfortunately 🙂 ) and much more. Even the slope is not the best... And they definitely did everything they could!
Very nice wine.

Succulent, sappy and refreshing. Lovely ripe fruit notes, some mineral dust and lemon curd... this is really a great wine to sip in the sun, to accompany to large bowl of salad or some grilled fish. You choose.
Highly recommended, wonderful value for money. — 8 years ago

Leeroy’s Dust Bowl Blues. Drank in the presence of Mark S. Wonderful non-cloying caramel. A bit of a bite mid-palate, but very drinkable. Among the better purples. — 3 months ago
