Tasted very good. Pretty good amount of fruit. Lighter bodied. Good amount of alcohol. Surprisingly not a lot of dried fruit or jam notes. More fresh fruit and some nuts. — 3 months ago

On the nose : Cocoa/mocha, ground ginger, menthol/resin. Milk chocolate, raisin on the palate. A bit of a chocolate dessert in a glass. — 2 months ago
love indigenous grape blends. 30% Rabigato, 30% Viosinho, 20% Arinto, 20% Gouvieo — 5 months ago
Pulled this out of my special collection. The cork fell apart, but I managed to get most of it out. I’ve never had a port as smooth. Smells and tastes of a really good British Christmas pudding. Shared with my lovely family and in-laws on one of our last nights in the States before heading back to Catalunya. Seems like it still has most of its character, so I would open 1985 now and not wait any longer. — a year ago
Battle of the ports. We had a port/cheese night with some friends and I opened 7 late bottled vintage ports from well known producers. Some notable wines included:
Favorite was 2019 Taylor's LBV: as with the vintage port of Taylor's which is always amongst my favorites, this LBV was balanced with hedonistic fruit and just the right amount of tannins.
2020 Dow's LBV was dark and dusty
2020 and 2019 Grahams LBV were very structured, needing a couple more years of cellar time.
2018 Quinta do Noval gave the most floral vintage port profile on the nose, close after the Taylor's.
2020 Niepoort LBV was also notable, with a different, typical Niepoort profile compared to the rest with the least amount of tannins. — a month ago

Touriga Nacional (40%), Touriga Franca (20%), Tinta Roriz (30%), Tinta Barroca (10%). Medium to deep purple. Medium body, medium tannin at most, medium acidity, dry. Some slight funk on the nose, in a very good way. Wet rocks, violets, light baking spices. Better after open for a day. Benchmark Duero for what I can find in the US so far. — 7 months ago
Not fruity but still very tasty. Definitely buy again — 3 years ago

[8 hour decant] This smells and (in particular) tastes like Dow’s, the drier style of classic Vintage Port, still shows lovely fruit and depth, just not as sweet as Fonseca or Graham’s, nor as structured as Taylor’s, longish finish, very, very sneaky fine!! — 5 days ago
