Refined. Full bodied. Complex. Great with food. — a month ago
Even better than the crazy-good 2007, the 2015 La Sangre de Jonata is sheer perfection in a glass and up with the finest Syrahs ever made in California! Checking in as a blend of 97% Syrah and 3% Viognier, aged in barrel, its saturated purple color is followed by out of this world aromatics black raspberries, smoked earth, graphite, game, violets and freshly crushed rock-like minerality. — 3 months ago

Tasting the ‘22 vintage. Ballard Canyon’s best. Beautiful Syrah. — a month ago
A blend of about 50% Syrah, rest Cab Sauv, Petit Verdot, Petite Sirah, Cab Franc, Sangiovese, Viognier & Merlot. Deep inky Ruby color with complex aromas of dark fruit, spice, almonds and wet earth. On the palate blackberry, currant and raspberry flavors, soft tannins on a long finish ending with leather, pepper, smoke and oak tones. Very Nice, a beauty. — 2 months ago

i asked for something interesting & unusual and this was suggested: southern Rhône varietals from CA, and it was fantastic! pours a deep rich ruby, opaque and wafting a cornucopia of aromas, intoxicating: first it was all exotic spices like clove & incense, garrigue, then it was cherry compote then it turned to raspberry pie, dried orange rind, dried herbs, pepper, etc. My first CA wine that smelled like high end CdP - liquified distilled voluptuous aromas & flavors. palate was so jam packed, med bodied, finely grained tannins, silky & suave - balanced acidity. screams old vine fruit handled well — a day ago
