Montmains Chablis 1er Cru Chardonnay 2021

2021 vintage. Yet another 1er Cru (or village) Chablis that's rocking don't bother knocking. Light-medium/medium body with citrus spritz elements, minerals and drinkability. Consistent palate push throughout. Actually more affordable than it should be given the quality of the effort. 04.23.25. — 3 days ago

Always enjoyed these wines, this is starting to show so well, always a shame when they are the last bottle though. — 9 years ago

Vaillons Chablis 1er Cru Chardonnay 2019

Slightly round when you want a cut. Still great w clams & garlic.
Fuller than expected, gone in a flash on a hot summers night.

Valmur Chablis Grand Cru Chardonnay 2020

2020 vintage. Some acidic heft but plenty of the drink me now vibes within. Nonetheless, simply delicious. — 2 years ago

Les Forêt Chablis 1er Cru Chardonnay 2018

Popped and poured; no formal notes. Consumed over two days with consistent performance both nights. “Les Fôrets” is a lieu dit inside of Montmains. Romain ferments in a combination of 90% cement egg and 10% foudre. This is my kind of 1er Cru Chablis. There is an abundance of energy. Bright, crisp tropical fruits that lean more towards the star fruit side of things. There is lemon citrus and loads of minerals. The oak treatment is extremely light and imparts more to the texture than anything else. The finish is long, refreshing and super satisfying. Really lovely stuff. — 3 years ago
