Granit 60 Vieilles Vignes Cornas Syrah 2021

Delectable Wine
9.1

The 2021 Cornas Granit 60 is a terrific result from this challenging vintage. Slightly reductive at first, swishing the glass gradually unlocks a red-fruited profile. Leafy undertones, forest floor and cured meat elements add more contrast. Medium-bodied, concentrated and remarkably refreshing, the 2021 finishes on a savory note. Les Sept Vignes Côte de Brouilly Gamay 2021

Starts quite earthy, brambly, almost mushroomy, and dark stewed fruit. Opens really nicely after an hour to crunchy stemmy blackberry and cherry. — a month ago

2013. Not sure what I did wrong that it did save that. Apologies

@Robert Torretti I am sure you did nothing wrong. I would would say 20% of the time I enter the vintage and it does not register.. Zero apologies necessary, thanks for fixing

I used to have this happen a lot - when putting in the vintage, make sure to hit the “ok” button rather than just tapping away into another area.

Bastide Miraflors

Cotes du Roussillon Vieilles Vignes Syrah-Grenache Blend

Berry medley, dark chocolate, some herb spice like coconut and vanilla bean, bit of char and oak spice, hint of geranium on the nose. Baked ripe summer berries, light brewed black tea, cocoa powder, lingering soft chalky tannins. Best after a day opened in the fridge, overall a wonderful value. — 6 days ago

Cuvée Vieilles Vignes Musigny Grand Cru Pinot Noir 1970

1970 vintage. Good not great fill. Cork an absolute mess. Decanted and tasted after an hour. Wow. Light body but still going strong. Big spice and orange peel components. Excellent length of finish and obvious class in the glass. 3.5.24. — 23 days ago

Château de Haute-Serre

Cahors Malbec 2019

Absolutely beautiful wine: Tannic without being overly dry; fruity, without smacking of one fruit or another; balanced and quaffable astride flavorful, spice-heavy Haitian cuisine. Rich cinnamon did not overpower this wine; nor did the spicy heat of added sauces. Nuances of licorice and anise played well with the traditional Haitian ginger and cinnamon of tropical cuisine. I should say it was delightful, as I so rarely enjoy the balance of any wine so much that I drink an entire bottle alone. I highly recommend this Malbec with any tropical Atlantic island cuisine. — a month ago
