2014 Regis Minet Pouilly Fumé - good Centre-Loire wine is still an A rating in my book, even at the entry level. White rocks and fruit all the way.

Extremely layered but delicate nose lets you know you are in for a treat. There's no kick of gooseberry or cat pee, funk or wool. Instead, a great balance between the signature gun smoke, flint and lit match, layered with extra clean lemon, lime, and grapefruit. Palate is rich and round, full of citrus fruit and a stream of acidity.

Holy moly! So much smoke, flint, and acid. Gun smoke braced by tangy lemons, limes, and white flower inspired perfume. Palate shows restraint.... Then, the finish just explodes. Quite an experience. Savage.

Lightning acidity, fleshy white stone fruits and orchard pear, fresh flinty minerality, green vegetal accents of peppers and fresh lemongrass. A wholly satisfying and food friendly wine with a true sense of its origins.

Lots of minerality, a touch smoky, but it all slightly overshadows the fruit unfortunately. Good acidity and nice with some food but better offerings out there in the Loire at that price range
