Twelve Clones Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir 2019

Very Gevreyesque. Dark wine. Lots of tannins. Kind of closed aroma wise but has nice cherry backbone. — 7 days ago

Ridge Vineyards

Estate Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2019

Blend of 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot and 1% Petit Verdot, from Monte Bello Vineyard, deep Ruby with purple edges, aromas of dark berry fruits, sweet spice and toasty oak. On the palate flavors of blackberry, black cherry and ripe blueberry with vanilla, cedar and tobacco. Fine defined tannins, long finish ending with fruit, toasty and earthy notes. Nice! — 15 days ago

Vandenberg Riesling 2019

Broad and structured. Perhaps a bit closed at the moment, even with ample air. Lime peel, kiwi, tropics, pollen, sea breeze. Nice tension. — 12 days ago

Todos Santa Ynez Valley Syrah Cabernet Sauvignon 2010

Beast. Inky. Tar. Blood. With 12 years under its belt it decided to be an old school Rhône when it grew up! — 15 days ago

Wow I had no clue where this came from. Santa Barbara Pinot Noir dark fruit, foresty, vintage scents. — 9 days ago

Belle Glos

Clark & Telephone Vineyard Pinot Noir 2020

Crafted by Joseph J. Wagner, 4th generation winemaker, with winemaking roots in the Napa Valley since 1906. Deep Ruby with red berry fruit aromas, tea and sweet spice notes. On the palate flavors of jammy blackberry and cherry with pronounced sweet vanilla oak, cacao and pepper spice notes. Soft tannins and bright acidity, well balanced, with mineral tones on a long finish ending with toasty spice! Nice! A restaurant favorite! — a month ago

Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir 2016

Great Pinot from great region…Russian River Santa Lucia Highlands from where many fine Pinots evolve. Agree with the pros and the guy who lists about 47 flavors out of this wine…wow, wish I had his taste buds but it may be a nuisance (he must be a chef or a herb farmer)…what a palate! My tastes are more prosaic…a big elegant Pinot, deep dark berry, legs and full flavored, full-bodied yet velvety smooth, perfect balance with a few hours of open…bought by all the surgeons and lawyers…one of the very top Pinots… — 3 days ago

Peter Martin Ray Vineyard Chardonnay

Buttercup gold core with light green tones to the edges, and a medium body with nice long legs. The nose is reminiscent of salt air, with apricot pastry and notes of florals, maybe orange or lemon blossom, layered beneath. The salinity is prominent on the palate, but fades in the middle, revealing green figs, cumquat, apricot, some vegetal notes, almost dry wood like, with definitely some lightly present oak, but a silky, glazed pastry like finish that lasts and lasts. A beautiful and restrained representation that pretty much could be old world if you weren’t paying attention. — 9 days ago
