The best Regent in Germany? I think so! Rich nose of cassis, raspberry, raspberry coulis, wild mint, exotic spice. Wet earth and extraordinary minerality. Love Max with serious red grapes that are heavy-ish. He does wonders also with Merlot. Palate is fresh, rich and dynamic. Amazing fruit density and purity. Wow some major tiny berry fruit intensity. Unreal sweetness and velvety tannins. Really sleek and well made. Liquid red velvet cake. Awesome concentration and freshness. For a wine this rich it’s remarkably fresh. Love this.
UPDATE: Beautiful nose today. Great improvement overnight. Floral, complex. Spacious. The huge fruit is not as intense and it’s really pretty. Palate is structured and deep. Really fine. Really elegant. Clean. This has vastly improved. 9.4 now. — 3 years ago

Big time red fruits. Cherry cola. Juicy with a dry finish. Banger with Lambrusco vibes. — a year ago
2018 open December 2021. This is a solid (a very solid, indeed!) Willamette Pinot. Nothing like this comes out of Burgundy, and the French are poorer for it. Raspberries and nettles on the nose, with bright red fruit on the front of the palate. The fruit immediately surrenders to a dense tannic structure. Slightly sour/mineral finish. It leaves a puckery aftertaste that I find a little off putting.
However, when it comes to tannins, this wine punches way above its weight. This is a tipple you can serve to your Cab bigot friends — but don’t show them the bottle! Tell them that it’s an interesting Red Mountain Cab that you found in Washington State. See how long you can fool them. On the other hand, if you’re a Pinot aficionado, this wine may just be a little too heavy for your tastes. Personally, I like my Pinots to be a little more delicate. I’m giving this a 9.0, because it’s a very good wine, But it’s a little rough around the edges. I suspect it will age quite well, though. — 3 years ago

Lovely aromas of red fruits and subtle hints of bell pepper. Light on the palate with tart cranberry and some underlying vegetal notes. A perfect summer red!! — 10 months ago

Superb dark almost black Czech beer. Hop undertones and chocolate and coffee notes that compliment the standout malt finish. — 4 years ago

This is the most iconic barbera in Italy
The story of the label is very curious
Single site hill where a lady had a house.
She was nicknamed "Uccellone" meaning big bird due to her prominent nose that resembled a bird beak. Nonetheless "Uccellone" in italian slang also mean "big penis"...
The local priest was horrified by this label and accused Braida of pushing the boundaries too much. The answer was from him to produce another wine honouring the priest called Bricco della Bigotta(Bigot).
The wine is big, it goes in large oak for 12 months plus 12 months in the bottle before release and needs decanting. Super smooth, super complex, this is a wine for blue cheese or meditation.
It keeps giving you different shade every time you swirl it.
Personally i prefer other style of barbera, but it is a super interesting wine with a lot of history too. — 10 days ago
