The 2012 J. Lassalle Special Club is made from 60% Pinot Noir & 40% Chardonnay. The vines average 50 yrs old. Hails from Chigny-Les-Roses. Winemakers Chantal Decelle-Lassalle and Angéline Templier farm using the practice of Lutte Raisonnée, which means they fall just short of organic. Sustainable but use minimal chemicals. Rain during and at the end of the season when Mother Nature doesn’t dry the grape clusters, chemicals are often necessary to prevent mold. This isn’t Sauternes!

Texturally, it is quite nice. Beautiful fine mousse and micro oxygenation. Lively but not aggressive acidity.

Green & golden apples, pear, pineapple, lime/lemon with zest, orange citrus blend, green melon & kiwi. White spice, bread dough, nougat, limestone bits, thick chalky powder, graham cracker crust, melted caramel, vanillin, saline, sea fossils, understated herbaceous notes, fruit blossoms, spring flowers with an elegant, smartly polished, well balanced, nicely structured-crafted finish that lasts 90 seconds & lands on volcanics & spice on the long set.

You could make case for 94 here. Perhaps fully with a few more yrs of bottle age.

2022 vintage. Olivier Decelle also owns Mas Amiel ( Maury), Jean-Faure ( Saint-Emilion), as well as estates in Burgundy and the Rhône Valley under his name. This Saint-Joseph "Empreinte"is a delicious, uncomplicated juicy Syrah with bright fruit, spices, and a gentle tannic bite. Very good value. Abv. 13,5 %. — 2 years ago

Ruby with aromas of red berry fruit aromas with a touch of spice. On the palate flavors of ripe blackberry and blueberry with earthy notes. Medium+ acidity with soft tannins on medium+ finish ending with tobacco and pepper spice character. — 5 years ago

2020 vintage. This estate was known only for its sweet Maury wines when it was purchased in 1999 by Olivier Decelle. As sweet wines were (and still are) not in vogue, he started to also produce dry wines. A wise decision, as showcased by this gorgeous entry level Côtes de Roussillon. A Grenache- Syrah-Carignan blend from slate soils featuring an attractive nose with black fruits, spices and a distinctive minerality that is the hallmark of this wine. Crisp and pure fruit in the mouth, with a soft tannic bite and a long mineral-spicy finish. Fantastic value for 10 euros. — 3 years ago
