Château Grand-Puy Ducasse

Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend 2005

Classic Bordeaux nose, if a bit muted. Had plenty of life at 20 yrs old. But a thinness on the finish that left us wanting more. — 11 hours ago

Château Léoville-Las Cases

Grand Vin de Leoville du Marquis de las Cases Saint-Julien Red Bordeaux Blend 2010

Even more fantastic than the previous bottle of 2010 I enjoyed a year ago. Decanted and enjoyed over 7 hours. This was good from first pour but became great and then magnificent over the next 3.5 and 7 hours. It was still full of verve on the last sip! Early only it was more dark fruit but over time the wines softened and became a bit sweeter and rounder. Tremendous length and complexity. — 18 days ago

Caillerets Volnay 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2008

Dark and bridging. Some spice and bridging herbal notes. Gnarly fruit. Still quite dense. Serious stuff — 4 days ago

Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste

Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend 2014

Expensive but worth it. This Bordeaux is just right now. Paradigmatic Pauillac with deep brooding flavor and bitter finish. Tannins are perfectly smooth. Perfect with steak or on its own while listening to music while contemplating the meaning of life. All of the leather, earth, and tar one can expect from a fine Pauillac and under $100. — a month ago

Have poured this via Coravin at the resto last 2.5 years. I go 9.5 but tremendous concentration and QPR. Old-school BDX experience.

Château Léoville-Las Cases

Clos du Marquis Saint-Julien Red Bordeaux Blend 2009

Quite deep ruby , narrow ruby rim. Deep and more concentrated on the nose , with dark cassis , ripe summer fruits , dark cherry , grafite , oyster shell notes. On the palate this is quite rich and decadent , cassis , ripe blackberry , blueberry a, dark cherry . Sweet but ample tannin , balanced acidity , quite rich but well balanced , good blackcurrant, grafite tinged , length . This is showing well but will continue to do so over the next 10-15 years , perhaps longer . — 25 days ago

This paired magnificently with a porc filet. A great alternative to a pinot noire — 23 days ago
