Domaine Du Château De Vosne

Domaine de la Romanée-Conti (DRC)

Cuvée Duvault-Blochet Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2002

When you see DRC on the label it’s difficult not to have preconceptions. The nose pops with red cherries ,stems and spice. The palate is hit with weighty red and black fruit which carries a healthy dose of acid. Surprisingly lacked the complexity and finish I was hoping for from a vintage like this let alone the producer. — 16 days ago

@Scott@Mister A’s-San Diego The Duvault I believe started to be produced commercially in 1999. Those with more knowledge, please chime in.

@Ira Schwartz Have only ever seen the GC Montrachet, Richebourg, La Tâche, Romanée St. Vivant, Échézeaux, Grands Échézeaux. Granted, we’re not dealing with thousands of cases produced for any particular offering. Hafta assume that a few of the “lesser offerings” likely don’t escape the cozy confines of Burgundy.

M-G wines are always elegant and this was no exception. Spice , red fruit, flowers and nicely integrated oak. — a month ago

Tasted the 2023–it over delivered and is approachable now, but oh, so, dear.

Aux Brûlées Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2010

2010 vintage. Nice fill and perfect cork. Decanted with very minimal sed. Still vibrant color a shade below ruby red. Tasted 5 mins and 30 mins after decanting. Nose slightly dirtier than expected after the funk blew off 10 mins post-decant. Medium body. Two other participants involved in tasting this mentioned a banana note, which I got after a bit of searching. It was far from a Hefeweizen gimme to be sure. Was honestly captivated by a clarion bell of exquisite, red fruit tartness at the top of the middle palate that set and reset my experience throughout at every sip. 02.22.25. — a month ago

Romanée St. Vivant Grand Cru Pinot Noir 2016

Unfortunately I do not have much experience with St Vivant😉.My nose is assaulted by waves of red fruit, earth, roses and lots of spice. In the mouth juicy waves of red and black cherries are cut short by firm tannins.
Lots of hints, but no conclusions.

Nice. Like this producer. Who among us has enough experience with Grand Cru RSV? Obviously a decade+ too young but if it's getting popped, you've gotta taste it...if only to gauge how much longer before it starts to lower the defenses.

Lol…I’m simply grateful that I’ve got any experience with RSV, even if it was a relatively weak year of DRC, it was still very lovely.

Aux Brulees Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2009

The 2009 “Aux Brulées” pours a deep ruby color with a near opaque core; medium viscosity with light staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of ripe red fruits: Strawberries, blackberries, red flowers, smoked and spiced meat, minerals and fine wood. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannins and medium acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. I found this to be relatively quiet compared to some of the other bottles we enjoyed on a night of really exceptional wine. I doubt it will be losing steam anytime in the immediate future. Drink now through 2039. — a month ago

Domaine du Comte Liger-Belair

Vosne-Romanée Pinot Noir 2009

My first time tasting this producer, I would be lying if I said I did not have very high expectations. Scents of earth , flowers, spice and oak. As one would expect from this vintage fruit but it is not overdone that is joined at the hip with some serious mineral overtones. I have no clue what this sells for at the cellar door but secondary prices have to be based on one thing, scarcity. — a month ago

@Ira Schwartz I have never had any of the Comte Liger-Belair wines but I’ve had many of Thibault’s wines and I’ve enjoyed those quite a bit.
