ample aroma. Strawberry, raspberry, plum, red flower. Sweet sour, juicy. Domaine Pierre Amiot et Fils Morey saint denis 22 @12000, AD, 250210 — 5 months ago
One of the best red burgundies I’ve ever had. Glowing ruby. The nose is classic red cherry and smoke/spice from the oak. Med body, med tannin, high acid. The purest of red fruit, savoury meatiness, forest floor flavours all held together by a shroud of fine tannins and a strong spine of acid. Incredible structure. Seamless. Better in 5-10 years. — a year ago
The 2018 “Clos de la Roche” pours a deep ruby/purple color with medium viscosity and light staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is youthful and shows a combination of tart and ripe red and dark fruits: raspberry, strawberry, blackberry, pepper, exotic spices, minerals and some fine wood. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long. This has an overall character of freshness and the fruit is so beautiful…but this is such a baby. While it shows its quality now, I won’t touch my next bottle for another 10 years. Better after 2035 (to my palate) and through 2058. — 4 months ago
Garnet with orange edge. Gentle and elegant aroma. Fresh initially, 1.5 hours, stabilized. Forest floor. Spices. Special fruitiness with passion fruits like. Taste is gentle sweetness first. Rounded. Medicine like aroma as well. stimulated to my brain. Robert Groffier Pete & Fils 14 @1900/G(18000), Fred, 241102 — 8 months ago
Delectable doesn’t recognize the label correctly. This is the 2018 Morey-Saint-Denis 1st Cru Les Chaffots.
Just had to have this tonight as I couldn’t let Peter drink his premier cru by himself. Not sure if he was picky or had the wrong year, but this one was incredible. And hate to say it because I don’t like paying so much money for it. But ahhh it was awesome. You know it when you fight your wife for the last sip! Strong earthy undernotes but so vibrant, such bright layers of red fruit. Yum! 😋 — a year ago

Médium light garnet , wide garnet rim . Quite herbal , spicy red currants, dried cherry, rose . orange rind , earthy notes . On the palate this has quite high acidity and more red fruit , dried cherry , red currant and raspberry hints , slightly astringent tannins , and ok earthy finish . Overall quite simple , and perhaps a little disappointing . This is ready now , but will last well for another few years — a month ago
