Louis Jadot

Beaujolais-Villages Gamay 2024

Definitely get the notes of strawberry, not so much the spice which I definitely don’t mind. Not too dry but not super sweet a very smooth finish. Definitely top 5 so far! — 5 days ago

Féraud-Brunel

Côtes du Rhône Villages Red Rhône Blend 2007

Opened the day before with half the bottle remaining. The 2007 CdR Villages pours a deep purple color with an opaque core; medium viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is vinous with notes of ripe and desiccated dark brambles, red and purple flowers, open pasture land, olives, some black pepper, leather and organic earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium acid. Confirming the notes from the nose, the finish is medium+. This is an impressive wine despite the rather modest designation, especially when you consider it’s nearly 18 years old! Then again, the talent behind this wine should yield a solid wine (Pegau & Cailloux). Drink now though it could easily see its 25th birthday if you must hold one longer. — 5 months ago

Domaine Didier Fornerol

Côte de Nuits Villages Pinot Noir 2012

As always, this wine over-acheives and blows away other red Burgundy from more celebrated appellations. Med ruby. Pronounced, perfumed nose of red berries and cherries turning tertiary. Spice, leather, and sandalwood. The palate is medium bodied, tannins are mildly medium structured. The flavor intensity is perfect, med+ like Burgundy should be with a long, haunting finish. — 25 days ago

Domaine Bachelet

Côte de Nuits-Villages Pinot Noir 1996

A tale of two cities. Bottle #1 had an enjoyable nose of decaying earth, red fruits and with air some darker fruit. One could tell it was a ‘96 given the unresolved tannins and the powerful acid. Mushrooms and darker fruit in the mouth. Bottle #2 unfortunately was DOA.. Very shrill and stewed fruit. — 2 months ago
