Dead on review from @Antonio Galloni. Killer second label IMO. — 5 years ago
Subtle cedar on the nose and palate. White pepper. Lovely. — 9 years ago
Smoky pear, yellow apples, fresh cut hay on a verdant farm the day after a rain. Lemon croissant with a brush of glazed sugar, lemon zest, chive, and satin petals of azalea outline the perfume. There is a freshness of clean, laundered, sun-dried whites. Medium mouthfeel with distinct white pepper, extra virgin oil, tart apple, lemon essences, peach skin, culminating in a silky dryness, full of tangerine and kumquat piths. Serve with substantive fare, and spiciness. It has the unction! #oltrepopavese #giorgi #CannetoPavese #bianco #Riesling #rieslingfix #italianwines #italianwhite #italianwhitewine — 9 years ago

The nose has a dark core. Dark currants, blackberries, black plum, black raspberries, baked strawberries, baked strawberries, mix of purple fruits, raspberries, dark chocolate cake to mousse, dark spice, dry tobacco, oak barrel powder, anise to black licorice, some dry herbs, baking spices, black tea, withering & candies, dark, red flowers framed in violets & lavender.
The palate still has a bit of astringency to it. The very M+ tannins are round and meaty. Very dark currants, wild blackberries, both plum, black raspberries, baked strawberries, mix of purple fruits, raspberries, dark chocolate cake to mousse, dark spice, dry tobacco, oak barrel powder to cedar tones, anise to black licorice, mid berry cola. Sweet tarriness, some dry herbs, mix of Asian & Indian spices, baking spices-leads with strong clove, nutmeg, cinnamon stick & vanilla, caramel tones, just a touch of ground black pepper, black tea, dry tree bark, black rich earth w/ leaves, dry top soil, withering & candies, dark, red flowers framed in violets & lavender, beautiful acidity, well; structured/tensioned, coming into full balance, showing an elegant near two-minute finish that lands on fruit and earthy minerals.
20 plus yrs here.

This is Purlieu’s sister winery. We were the second tasting given in their new facilities just on the edge of Napa as you approach from American Canyon.
We started our visit with a splash of their 17 Sauvignon Blanc as we toured their new facilities.
A hybrid of tropical & dry style. It has understated tropicals of mango, pineapple, white citrus, peach, cut grass, round acidity and nicely polished finish.
Photos of, their lobby, labels of the assorted different producers that make their wines there and their tasting bar.
For those of you not familiar with Le Pich, I took this from their site...Le Pich, which is the Wappo Indian term for "golden eagle," is the sister label of Napa Valley's esteemed Purlieu Wines. The wines are crafted by rising star winemaker Julien Fayard. Originally from France, Julien has lived in the Napa Valley since 2006, when he and his wife agreed to settle down by “meeting halfway” — between his home in France… and hers in Sonoma. In France, Julien worked in both Provence and Bordeaux, where he defined his core winemaking style at the exalted first growth Château Lafite-Rothschild (he even lived in Lafite’s grand château for a period) as well as at Smith Haut Lafitte. In Napa, Julien worked at Quintessa before joining Atelier Melka, where he spent five years as the Director of Winemaking. He has worked with the likes of Lail Vineyards, Gemstone, Dalla Valle, and more and his Le Pich wines are some of the best values we've found in Napa Valley. — 8 years ago
Andy Erickson's history is hard to beat...Harlan, Staglin, Hartwell, Ovid, Dalla Valle and some place called Screaming Eagle. This one, while not the same notoriety as the others, still shows Mr Erickson's ability to blend an amazing wine. Not overly complicated, but great overall food wine. — 9 years ago
Quite enjoyable. Great find while on vaca at grocery store in Houston. — 3 months ago
Regalato dalla Bettola, bevuto con la famiglia per i 4 mesi di DanDan — a year ago
2016. We really liked the way the oak rounded out this wine when compared to the slightly more tart Barbera d’Asti from the same producer that was poured as part of my daughter’s pairing. Paired with the Tajarin dalla forma finished in a wheel of gran kinara cheese. — 5 years ago

Tasted along side of the '98 Insignia and '97 Dalla Valle. Congrats to the Araujo, the winner! Jammy dark fruit structure starting to weaken (as was the case with all three). The nose was complex w/ dark fruits, licorice and herbal notes. — 9 years ago
