Lush, deep red fruit with a little tobaccy! So great! The grapes just balance out each other so nice! — 3 months ago
A bit of apricity to combat the colder months. A really distinctive and lovely brass golden hue in the glass. The aromatic notes are sudden and pleasing with apples, peaches, and pears upon opening. Pineapple and melon for days. A luscious smear of honey runs throughout.
A quite unique and energetic Chardonnay from Mendocino County. Bright acidity and lively. This is a wine with a personality and soul. Crisp and clean with precision. More citrus fruits on the palate with apples and tea, for good measure. A really fun wine. — 3 months ago

The Grand Cuvée 170ème is based on the 2014 vintage (which comprises about 55% of the final blend) with the remainder being reserve vintages going back to 1998. Popped and poured; enjoyed two bottles from the same source back to back with consistent results (because it was so damned good and YOLO). The 170ème pours a straw color with persistent mousse. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of tart and ripe orchard fruit with some autolytic and charming oxidative notes: green apple, citrus, lemon curd, toasted brioche, hazelnuts and chalky minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with high acid (but balanced by the fruit and non-fruit). Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and the texture is creamy. There such a deft balance of acid and richness that Krug arguably does better than anyone; at least consistently. Always a banger. Drink now through 2039. Disgorged Summer of 2021. — 9 days ago
