Côtes du Rhône White Rhone Blend 2012

Shedding some of its exuberant herbal youth, this is now in a balanced, prettier place. Fascinating evolution. I only wish I had more. — 21 days ago

La Sagesse Côtes du Rhône Grenache 2018

Dark rubi robe, nose of kirsch, flowers, mint and tangerine notes. Fine tannins, good acidity and balance, dense, garrigue and other spices notes. Its delicious now but should be much better in 5 years. This is great stuff for the price. — a month ago

Château Pesquié

Quintessence Côtes du Ventoux Syrah Grenache

The description: Chateau Pesquié Quintessence Rouge is a well-rounded blend of Syrah and Grenache grapes, grown in the scenic mountainside vineyards of Ventoux in the Rhone Valley. It boasts an intense ruby-red color and aromas of blackcurrant, cherry, and spices, all of which are complemented by earthy and smoky undertones.

The opinion: Description accurate, but it needs a hunk of red meat or a rich duck sausage dish. It’s ok but better around for the value.

Les Abeilles Côtes du Rhône Red Rhone Blend 2021

Medium ruby in color; on the nose, it's clean with pronounced primary and secondary aromas of violets, cherries, and cloves; on the palate, it's dry with high acidity, high tannins, medium alcohol, full body, and pronounced primary and secondary flavors of cherry, blackberry, baking spices , and hibiscus with a long finish. This wine is complex and intense. Overall, I rate this wine as very good. — 20 days ago

Les Côtes Saint-Joseph Syrah 2022

Funny how sometimes I’m guilty of thinking “ letting the Brett blow off” to taste the main event. Here the development in the glass is the main event, which includes quite a bit of funk when first opening up. That the evolution includes wild blackberries & cassis, & the funk adds to the overall impression of something feral getting tamed, is all part of the fun. Fine grained & can be drunk young, but curious how it would fare in 8-10 years ( imagine a much more smoothed out development & sweetness). — 3 months ago

Château de Saint-Cosme

Côtes du Rhône Syrah 2019

100% Syrah. This is a very inexpensive Cotes but 2019 was a banner year. Velvety and full bodied. Notes of black cherry, graphite and cocoa powder. Medium tannins brings a decent finish. Nicely paired with a spicy grilled chicken. — 22 days ago

Coudoulet de Beaucastel Cotes-du-Rhone Red Rhone Blend 2021

Good Côtes du Rhône. A bit sour and bitter for my taste at first — 19 days ago

Côtes du Rhône Red Rhone Blend 2022

2022 vintage. Don't mind Côtes-du-Rhône at home. In fact, blow thru as many as I can find most vintages because of the versatility, drinkability and QPR. At work/the resto tho, only mess with one and it is this baddie. Generally gets more savory and less richie/plushy. Think black olive/tapenade vs überripe dark plum. Decanted and tasted after 20 mins but this needed at least an hour in the decanter. Likely would have scored higher had it fallen as such but those damned, thirsty forces swooped in and left none with which to test my theorem. F. 09.25.25. — a month ago
