Le Mesnil Sur Oger Brut Champagne Blend

🏅 Rating 91+/100 (4,15⭐)

Delamotte NV Magnum

Reductive style with underlying Chalky Chardonnay minerality of Côte de Blanc. Full of flowers & tropical fruit. Very sunny and warm base vintage. My guess would be 2012 base. Lovely champagne for relaxing branch with friends and oysters.

Blend:
Chardonnay : 55%
Pinot noir : 35%
Pinot Meunier : 10%

Along with its "sister" winery Champagne Salon, Delamotte is the historical House of the Laurent-Perrier group.

Oiry Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Champagne Chardonnay

2014 base. 2g dosage. 12/06/2017 disgorgment. Pale and light yellow. Aggressive bubbles. I find this wine incredibly hard to describe. Lemon in the nose. Pears and bitter orange peels in the mouth. Lots of chalk and minerality as expected. Even with the low dosage there’s so much sweetness in this champagne. Just lovely.

Blanc de Blancs Brut Grand Cru Chardonnay 2002

stunning champagne absolutely brimming and bursting with exuberant ripe classy fruit. It’s got superb density and texture, creamy and layered, but barely able to contain the gorgeous fruit that is just overflowing like a quart of maple syrup in a pint sized bowl. It’s got citrus, stone fruits, yellow grapes, a little ginger, spices, not at all oxidative, so fresh. Don’t remember why I bought this—must have been on someone’s recommendation—but thank you, thank you, thank you. Near headspinning. — a day ago

Les Cras Meursault 1er Cru Chardonnay 2015

Very pleasant nose of white fruit, some honey and buttery notes with a touch of flowers. The palate is so nice, delicious with a nice tension that balances the richness and roundness of the 2015 vintage, a nice long finish with a touch of high alcohol though it seems. 91-92

Rosé de Saignée 1er Cru Champagne Pinot Noir

Precise champagne that really needs your attention. I tend to lean towards a more oxidative style l, this is not that yet flirts on the both sides. Strong cranberry finish. — 7 days ago

Cuvée Hugues de Coulmet Blanc de Blancs Brut Champagne Chardonnay

The palest of straw color with a seemingly infinite amount of tiny bubbles. There’s a touch of perfume on the nose upon opening but you quickly get the more customary champagne scents. Apricots, peaches, and honey with faded flowers and toast. 100% Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs, this is one of those champagnes mostly concerned with harmonious balance in the glass. Very crisp and cool, there’s nothing overwrought going on here, all the elements are working together. Delightfully creamy throughout with medium acidity and round all over. The palate follows the nose with just enough citrus fruit to please, without ever coming in danger of going overboard. The toasted brioche and lemon meringue compliment things nicely. This is one of the best values from Champagne that I’ve ever tasted, truly wonderful stuff. — 20 days ago
