Bouzeron Aligoté 2024

Varietally correct, a nice summer wine; dry minerals and some citrus and floral character. The Villaine name jacked the price up and it’s simply not worth it. — 13 days ago

Clos des Myglands Mercurey 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2021

Distinctive bouquet characterised by aromas of black and red fruits, intensified by woody and smoky notes. The wine reveals delicious mouthfilling backed by beautiful fullness and velvety tannins. A harmonious combination that produces a silky, warm wine that perfectly reflects the nature of its terroir. — 8 months ago

Lemon, sea salt, just a touch of honey, minerality really shows on the palate, good acid, lovely depth and length, drinking beautifully tonight. — 8 days ago

Lovely salty, saline aroma with lime zest. 450 meters elevation, from 8 different plots. Rich yet zesty, with freshness and opulence. Older 100-year-old plots are aged in barrel, younger 10-50-year-old plots in steel. — a month ago

Jacques Selosse

Lieux Dits Aÿ La Cote Faron Extra Brut Grand Cru Champagne Blend

The first “ah ha” Selosse wine for me many years ago. The south facing La Côte Faron is particularly “Selossien” and therefore particularly singular, with its oxidative complexity, textural richness and generous sun kissed ripe fruit expression. Like all Selosse wines, it’s layered and particularly aromatic for Champagne with intense caramelized red berry fruit, licorice and wildflower honey. The palate shows tremendous volume and intensity with a powerful, full bodied and satiny texture and a long, vibrant, mineral finish. So good. — 9 months ago

Yes, the oxidative quality of this champagne stands alone, even amongst other Selosse wines. I adore it.
