Alea Clare Valley Riesling 2017

Enjoyed on a ‘wine tour at home’ whilst slight restrictions are in place here in South Australia. We can still enjoy 30th birthdays 🎂🍾 — 12 days ago

Wildman Blanc Adelaide Hills White Blend 2019

So much going on as well as so much fun.
Mandarins, melon, papaya, and mango.
Daisies, chamomile, Jasmine and wisteria .
An array of herbs from bay leaves to rosemary and oregano. Candied ginger. Rice, hop and kombucha which leads to green tea.
Super fresh and zingy minerality.
Long too.
Cheers!

Wendouree Clare Valley Shiraz Malbec 2010

Opened yesterday in one of those days that you only feel like a sip. That was lucky; today is showing much more focused, the fruit is crunchy, appealing and fresh. Spices and hints of balsamic. I couldn't work out how quickly was gone...then I realised my wife was happier than me😆. Shiraz and malbec pair outstandingly at Wendouree. Great tannin as usual and long. — 17 days ago

Checking out what 2019 in The Hills has to offer.
Our sons birth-year so the research has to be spot on 👌🏽
Stay tuned in our 2019 exploration.
This is a breath of fresh air in a sea of Chardonnay and Riesling.

2016 I like it a lot smooth rich but it’s slightly light. — 22 days ago

Watervale 16 Riesling Gullyview Vineyard 2019

Actually the 19. Smells like honeydew and honeysuckle, and like an Arnold Palmer a little bit. Has a creamy middle, beautifully delineated structure and a surprising amount of heft. But not negative, obese heft, like a Winston Churchill heft — a month ago

Petaluma

Hanlin Hill Riesling 2002

Mid yellow in colour. Aromas of musk and mandarin with dried herbs and a hint of paraffin. Fresh and sprightly at 18 years of age. I was contemplating leaving this to 2022 when it would have been 20 years old and on this showing it would have made it easily. With time some peachy flavours and some sweetness. Next day - lovely honeysuckle and honeyed notes on the palate. Fulsome with stone fruits and quince - you would think off dry but in fact 12.8% ABV and fully dry. Made by the legendary Brian Croser back then. An absolute treat to have a wine like this for Sunday lunch. One of the Wines of the Year for me. — 19 days ago

It's Not My Fault I Like Bubbles Pinot Noir Rosé

Happy 10 weeks us! I don’t think I’ve ever appreciated my post-8pm wine as much as I have over the last 10weeks (8pm is the little man’s bedtime 😜). And this one is a beauty too! Both Mr Spittoon and I were gushing over it.

A big thanks to @goodpairdays for this sample bottle! If you’d like a discount on your first GPD order make sure to use the code “travellingcorkscrew” to get $23 off 🙌

This “It’s not my fault I like bubbles” NV Sparkling Pinot Noir Rosé is made by @lansdownewine in the Adelaide Hills, South Australia - home to the ‘slowest growing vines’ in the region.

In the glass it’s a very pretty peachy pink colour. On the nose I’m picking up strawberries, raspberries and candied citrus. It’s fresh, fruity and bloody inviting! In the mouth it has such a smooth texture with those red berries coming through alongside peaches and lemon curd. Be careful with this one as it’s so easy to consume!! Yumo!

This wine was sent to me as a sample, I was under no obligation to post about it.

All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy
