Mount Horrocks

Clare Valley Rosé Blend 2017

Over 30 degrees here in the Adelaide Hills today.
This calls for local pool hangs and ice cold Rose.
There isn’t a wine in the Mt Horrocks line up that isn’t awesome.

Bin 7 Riesling 2012

White Florals, Talc, Herbs, note of Kerosene. On the palate some white stone fruit, great structure with Medium minus acid. Finishes semi dry and soft. Excellent Clare Valley Riesling. — a month ago

Adelaide Hills Cabernet Sauvignon Pinot Gris Rosé 2018

Phenomenal wine. This is a front runner for the ‘go to’ summer sipper. Orange in appearance, texture and balance in check. Drink this with a smile on your face — 13 days ago

Wendouree

Shiraz 1992

Yes elegant, but quite simple altogether
On the light side of the spectrum
If you had it side by side with the 1991 you wouldn't bet a penny on the two being the same wine, just different years
It ends long, but goes through a moment of warmth in your after taste due to the alcohol that doesn't look integrated
Funny but after a while the lingering is pleasant
At peak I would say, but it would not fear a little longer time in the bottle

Killerman's Run Clare Valley Shiraz 2016

Nice ripe fruits on the nose, with sweet cherry on the palate. Lovely jam. Low tannins and super smooth finish. — 23 days ago

Watervale Clare Valley Riesling 2010

Another banger from my parents poorly kept wine cabinet. At 9 years of age showing strong Clare Valley kerosene notes with strong acid backbone and light citrus tones. — 4 days ago

K Clare Valley Riesling 2016

Total Wine. Around $15. Atomism of petrol, mineral, tropical fruit maybe guava? Yummy acidity, bright, long finish, something mildly funky but good, unripe pear, grapefruit/citrus. — 12 days ago

Syrah 2015

Wow! What a nose.
Strong smells of roasting blackberry jam, on a slice of sourdough.
Heavy handed, with all your classic dark fruits, with a little bit orange ones thrown in, mostly that shows through in the acidity. Dried persimmons, allow this wine to finally rest.
Yum.
