Headless horseman! Just a tonshure of cappuccino rimming the parameter. Bourbon, pecan and caramel, sarsaparilla, mocha, and toasted sunflower seeds. Continued root suggestions with ginger and more sarsaparilla, vanilla, toffee, burnt brown sugar and tinged cinnamon stick. The dark gourd suggestions still manage to surface. Sacrificial pumpkins consumed in tar-sand fires and pecan pie filling. The dark finish glistens like eel sauce. #crownvalleybrewing #stout #imperialpumpkin #pumpkin #pumpkinbeer #smashable #seasonalbeer — 7 years ago
Smells like crab shells, bakers chocolate brownie. Chocolate marshmallow. Call count Chocula!! — 9 years ago
This Brett-kin has been languishing for some time. Smells fresh though. Holding its snowy crown over hazy orange-amber. Graphic lacing (thick lines). Gourd-y with funky white pepper on the nose, nutmeg and clove right behind. This smells incredible with orange blossoms, caramel and lime. Delicious entry with lime peel, lemonade, candid ginger, clove, bing cherry, candied red grapefruit peel, white raspberry, star fruit and of course cinnamon and nutmeg trimmings. What a beer when you wait for the Brett-citrus to evolve. Pump it up! — 5 years ago
The last pumpkin! Tequesta Brewing Co. by my estimation, the best of all. Nutmeg, cinnamon, and clove but not sweet aromatically speaking. Rich with brown sugar that doesn’t usurp the spices which seem wet and fresh here, melding perfectly with the beer. Apple and pear and sultana seem to surface, with the suggestion of pepper. #beer #bier #pumpkinbeer #pumpkin #TequestaBrewingCompany #TBC #floridabeer — 6 years ago
Baked yellow apple, pumpkinseed, smoky biscuit, buttered gourd, zucchini blossom and saline oak define a subtle aromatic interplay. A touch of caper turns lemon cream, and an even drier grapefruit and lemon tea. Very interesting stuff. #sparklingwine #bubbles #sparkleon #bubblesonabudget #oregonwines #brut — 8 years ago
Pumpkin rind and earthy gourd flavors. Malty. Hints of clove and nutmeg. Dry and delicious. — 9 years ago
Ebony dark with short head that diminishes to cirrus surface swirls. Pumpkin pie with baked crust and actual pumpkin smells to boot. Caramelized gourd sugars. Vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg. Cola weight, but tea textured, with coffee aspirations. Tastes of vanilla-cinnamon cookie, gingerbread, anise, allspice, caraway and pine nettle. Expressive in a chai sort of way with a tingle of sarsaparilla. Actually capturing pumpkin in there was a plus. In Florida these seasonal brews remind us what season it is. First of the patch. — 5 years ago
Pumpkin prominent, as are cinnamon, cardamom and allspice. Cedar Plank, toasted corn and roasted gourd. Unctuous mouthfeel that is rich. Maple syrup, brown sugar and malt, golden raisin, creamy pumpkin, chai latte, with a little pepper spicing up the finish. #pumpkinbeer #pumpkinale #shipyard #smashedpumpkin #shipyardbrewery #pumpkin #seasonalbeer #beer — 6 years ago
Good pumpkin on the nose, butternut, sandy soil, myrrh. Soft pumpkin tastes, brimming with lemon peel, iron minerality and expressive spicing. Plenty of beer profile interwoven. Coppery, raw gourd cooked to caramelly perfection. — 9 years ago

Florida Avenue Brewing Company ‘The Lantern’ Imperial Pumpkin Ale. Pumpkin-amber color of ale extends to head which undulates as dissolving eyes lace into spooky reaching claw and ghost flame afterlace. Cinnamon-apple nose fades to expose a cauldron of pumpkin spice and butternut, spaghetti, and acorn squash, and finally the gourd lord, pumpkin. Bourbon strikes the palate first with a caramel and cedar urgency, leaving a tannic mark. Nutmeg and allspice roll about the floor, kicking up the bud-covered rug. What this lacks in creaminess, it exerts in agro spice. I’m on the fence with this one, and make no mistake, I am impaled there. I want to try this one in a year! I think it deserves that. See you next year! Happy haunting.
