Château Porto Carras

W. & J. Graham's

Aged 20 Years Tawny Port Blend

browner colour, smells of burnt caramel, apricots, amber honey - very syrup-y. not as sweet as the other port. tastes like raisins, maple syrup-esque. tastes similar to the maple syrup taffy/lollipops. not as fruity as the other port. after chocolate the flavours are softened and honestly not as sweet — 9 days ago

Sublime. Still youthful. Elegant softness. Prune, perfectly balanced nuances with a super long finish — a month ago

Vintage Porto 1991

1991. Decanted. Much better after 24 hours of air and still singing after 48 hours. I got raisins, dried cherry, a lot of orange peel, fresh herbs, some wood, a bit of cigar, but I was truly surprised by the citrus I got in each visit. Really loved this. Definitely let it air for a day at this point. — 2 months ago

Otima 10 Year Old Tawny Porto

Oak intermingles nicely w cherry sweetness. Red-orange color is perfect. Strong aromas delivered in richness. Thought I was a white wine person, but the balanced, sweet freshness of a port is becoming my new favorite indulgence — 6 days ago

Drank over many months. Not really my style. Wasn’t bad, but wouldn’t buy again. Coffee, plums, prunes, and subtle chocolate. Almost black in color. Very rich and deep. Was a charity purchase which is all that matters! — a month ago

'00, based on ratings, should be considerably better, yet I didn't buy any Cockburn's for that vintage, so intuition?

I’m more of a Kopke fan. I like my ports lighter with caramel and more refined flavors.

Best Port I’ve ever had was the ‘00 Kopke Colheita

Vintage Port 1963

I have no words. Friend bought from a yard sale for $8. Has now been open for three weeks in the fridge. Best condition wine I’ve ever had with this amount of age on it. Captivating. Unreal. — 2 months ago

W. & J. Graham's

Aged 10 Years Tawny Port Blend

This Port is very sweet, with potent notes of maple, chocolate, and maybe raisin. This is a rich dessert red, that is almost rust in color. This pairs really well with dark chocolate. — 9 days ago

Vintage Porto Port Blend 1940

Oceanic. Some smoke. Raisin and caramel. More like Madeira! Astounding length. Salty, biting. With almost a peppery bite on the finish. Tongue salivating. Perspiring. This heats up the body. Palate is perfect. Nose falls down a little- but this was from open bottle in enomatic so may not be the wine’s fault. — 2 months ago

@Peter Sultan almost! Wine shop in Lisbon had it in their enomatic machine. Couldn’t resist; it was 40 euros for a small taste.
