Popped and poured into red Solo cups; enjoyed over the course of an hour. The 2006 pours a garnet/purple with an opaque core; medium viscosity with moderate staining of the tears and some sediment. On the nose, the wine is vinous with notes of ripe and desiccated black currants, blackberries, black cherries, tobacco, Poblano pepper, cocoa, fine warm spices and organic earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin (integrated) and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. Quite delicious and a really lovely example of the 2006 vintage. Drink now through 2036. — 19 days ago

Absolutely love this wine. At Le Tout - Paris — a month ago
+1 hour decant(decent chunky sediment). A striking dark ruby red color. On the nose: Enticing notes of dark red fruit, pencil shavings, floral, little barnyard funk, worn leather, tobacco leaf. Taste: Silky-smooth, creamy, rich(not your old school Bordeaux) wine with blackberry/dark cherry, currants, licorice, glycerin, dried herbs, dark chocolate and a peppery cedar long dry finish. YUM!! — 12 days ago
It is time for my #FridayCabernetfix.

Nose of black currants, black cherries, light oak, spices, chocolates, herbs, coffee, licorice, tobacco leaf, earth, black tea and peppercorn.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity and long legs
Dry on the palate with plums, black currants, light oak, licorice, chocolates, tobacco leaf, herbs, peppercorn, coffee and earth.
Long finish with round tannins and tangy raspberries.
This 5 year old Cabernet Sauvignon based Bordeaux blend from Sonoma County is already drinking beautifully. Rich and extracted. Fruit forward and chewy, complex and engaging. Nicely balanced with a nice mouthfeel.
Still very young, and needs at least 7 years in the bottle to mature properly, so be patient. Will continue to age nicely in the next 25 years, and showing good potential to become a 95+ point wine.
A great sipping wine that will also pair nicely with a big piece of steak.
A blend of 71% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot. Aged for 16 months in (95% new) French Oak barrels.
13.9% alcohol by volume.

Super Tuscan blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (58%), Cabernet Franc (29%) and Merlot (13%). Dark ruby color. Aromas of red and black fruit, anise, purple flowers and leather. Flavors of black cherry/plum/berry fruit, black licorice, cocoa powder and sweet baking spices. Lovely mineral and minty tones on the long and lingering finish. Silky tannins and a velvety texture. Loaded with finesse and wonderful freshness. Enjoyed with Petey and Kase (Thanks Guys) on the beach in Cape May, NJ. — a month ago

This 22 year old Bordeaux blend from Napa Valley is drinking beautifully now. Rich and fruit forward, very complex and entertaining. A fantastic wine.
Drinking at its peak now, and will continue to do so in the next 5 years.
Wine Spectator 93 points. Wine Advocate 97 points.
The high alcohol is well integrated by now.
Elegant, and a great sipping wine. Paired beautifully with my delicious American Wagyu steak.
A blend of 59% cabernet sauvignon, 22% merlot, 13% Cabernet Franc and 6% Petit Verdot. Unfiltered and unfined.
15.6% alcohol by volume.
95 points.

2013 is a great Napa Cab vintage, so I’m somewhat surprised that there is only 57% Cab in the blend.
Still quite stern and massive, I got this wall of dark fruit, tannins and extract, with acidity underneath it, but not necessarily a lot of charm. The structure softens a bit after 2 hours, revealing more fruits, herbs, and savory complexity. I think this needs another 4-5 years. — 10 days ago
