Vincent Dauvissat

Les Clos Chablis Grand Cru Chardonnay 2016

Having selected Raveneau Valmur of the same vintage the prior night I thought it’d be fun to compare Dauvissat’s Clos. Also with a requested pre-dinner decant, it’s classic in style, seamlessly balanced between power and elegance and highly aromatic with layers of yellow orchard fruit, citrus blossoms, beeswax and stony minerals. The palate is rich, but not as weighty and textural as the Raveneau was, but instead shows great purity and focus with racy citrusy acids, a sea spray-like salinity and a long mineral inflicted finale. Excellent. — 12 days ago

Floral fragrance initially. Cherry became apparent on palate with air. Nice evenness. August 2022. — a month ago

Les Vieilles Vignes Puligny-Montrachet Chardonnay 2018

Once the bottle got some oxygen and blew off some of the acid - this wine was really beautiful. Nice oak balanced with fruit and some sunshine.

La Voûte Saint-Vincent Morgon Gamay 2020

Wow! The value of this... 17 EUR a bottle, delivery to Poland from France included. This is a steal!

A gorgeous nose of cherry, wet soil, geranium, licorice... This is intense. The palate shows perfect balance with a nice and long acid backbone, some width and a great, almost crunchy texture with a soft mouthfeel that turns into a turbulent sea in midpalate, with tannins sharpening a bit and giving it another layer. The finish is fruit forward, almost umami, with that layer of turbulences gently brushing up that bright fruit to make it a truly enjoyable tasting experience. That's why you love cru Beaujolais...

Bourgogne Chardonnay 2019

Pop and pour. Notes from 24 hrs open. Better on Day 2. The nose shows lots of sweet apple and soft lemon (no reductive notes), soft mint and a touch of va. Good acidity on the palate where there is loads of lemon, wet stone and apple, together with a touch of white pepper. Good density and a vibrant finish, but just not nearly as compelling aromatically as earlier vintages. — a month ago

Tete du Clos Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Chardonnay 2017

This needed quite a bit of air to get going, I’d recommend a decant. Very elegant, precise wine. High acid, layers of citrus and stone fruit 😍🍋⚡️ — 2 months ago

La Romanée Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Chardonnay 2018

Certainly one of the absolute best 1er crus in Chassagne, 2018 La Romanée from Dancer is superb tonight, of Grand Cru quality and particularly exceptional for the vintage. It’s bouquet is layered with ripe stone fruit, white flowers, toasted hazelnut and attractive reduction and its deeply concentrated palate has incredible vibrancy and lift, totally in focus and elegantly textured, giving way to a notably long mineral inflicted finish. Fantastic bottle. — 2 months ago
