Popped and poured into red Solo cups; enjoyed over the course of an hour. The 2006 pours a garnet/purple with an opaque core; medium viscosity with moderate staining of the tears and some sediment. On the nose, the wine is vinous with notes of ripe and desiccated black currants, blackberries, black cherries, tobacco, Poblano pepper, cocoa, fine warm spices and organic earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin (integrated) and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. Quite delicious and a really lovely example of the 2006 vintage. Drink now through 2036. — 19 days ago

Super Tuscan blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (58%), Cabernet Franc (29%) and Merlot (13%). Dark ruby color. Aromas of red and black fruit, anise,purple flowers and leather. Flavors of black cherry/plum/berry fruit, black licorice, cocoa powder and sweet baking spices. Lovely mineral and minty tones on the long and lingering finish. Silky tannins and a velvety texture. Deep inky in color with a short reddish/ purplish rim.

Strong nose and full bodied with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate with nice complexity and a great mouthfeel.

Showing black currants, black plums, blackberries, dried figs, dark chocolates, raisins, peppercorn, licorice, light earth, herbs, light tar, tobacco leaf and light barnyard.

Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.

This 22 year old Bordeaux blend from Napa Valley is drinking beautifully now. Rich and fruit forward, very complex and entertaining. A fantastic wine.

Drinking at its peak now, and will continue to do so in the next 5 years.

Wine Spectator 93 points. Wine Advocate 97 points.

The high alcohol is well integrated by now.

Elegant, and a great sipping wine. Paired beautifully with my delicious American Wagyu steak.

A blend of 59% cabernet sauvignon, 22% merlot, 13% Cabernet Franc and 6% Petit Verdot. Unfiltered and unfined.

15.6% alcohol by volume.
