Château Chevalier St. Georges

Domaine Robert Chevillon

Les Perrières Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2002

Old school burg! Love this vintage. 02 Perrieres is showing beautifully tonight, red fruited, elegant and seductive, descriptors I wouldn’t say I typically associate with NSG. A lengthy slow ox has it wafting from the glass with dried raspberry, brown spices, game bird, forest leaves and a liquid rock minerality. The palate shows impressive power and concentration with melting tannins and a persistent mineral inflicted finish. At peak but should hold through 2029. — 2 days ago

Clos de la Maréchale Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2015

A wine I have purchased every year since the 05 vintage. This vintage is more open, approachable that had rich dark cherry, berry fruit, savory spice, underbrush, mineral & violet. — 6 days ago

Domaine de Montille

Aux Thorey Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2017

Medium dark rubi robe, nose of crushed flowers, asian spices and a hint of dark cherries. Very round and velvety in the mouth, good length, a fine modern pinot that pleases those who prefer a more classical style as well. — 24 days ago

Domaine Georges Roumier

Clos de la Bussière Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2012

I’ve always found these wines to need just so much age to show well (I do think that changed starting in 2017), but at age 12 Roumier’s Bussiere is absolutely ready to go after sufficient air, wafting gorgeous, distinctive aromatics synonymous with Roumier even if it’s not Chambolle. It’s dark fruited but well defined, perfumed with violets, cocoa bean and exotic spices. The palate shows the density and concentration of the vintage with both power and elegance, fine grained tannins and a saline-mineral laced finale. Fantastic showing of 2012 Clos de la Bussière with many great years ahead. — 7 days ago
