Surprisingly youthful & vigorous for this age.
Dried cherries on the nose with some tobacco, turned earth, tomato leaf, a bit of leather & a touch of black tea. Enticing, complex, fresh.
On the palate this showed some energy! The tannins polished, smooth but still with quite a grip, the acidity shining, the fruit slowly fading but still there. Brilliant length and character. — 2 days ago

New-mown hay, blackberry brambles on the nose. Intensely fruit forward, but not sweet or cloying. Raspberries and blackberries. Light tannic structure, with mint and back pepper low notes, but it develops a pleasing minerality on its surprisingly long finish. I don’t know anything about this vintage, but it seems like it was grown on volcanic soils. The front reminds me of a Beaujolais Nouveau, but the finish is much more complex. A unique profile combination that I’ve never tasted before. Lovely. — a day ago
