I think this may be my first ever Barbaresco. Decanted for four hours. Having alongside short rib bolognese home made all the way.
Medium body. Transparent garnet with tawny edge. Lots going on with the nose! Strawberries, spice, flowers, dusty stone, just a hint of leather, and cedar. On the palate pomegranate, cherry, strawberry, cranberry, and sweet tobacco. Will not be my last Barbaresco! — 3 days ago
More a show jumper than a thoroughbred, the 2015 Pajè Barbaresco from Roagna is light on its feet and well-balanced, but reaches great heights. High-toned red fruit (strawberry at the top), baking spice, and florals jump from the glass one-after-another and land softly on a a base of minerality. Drinking beautifully. — 15 days ago
— 6 days ago
Very smooth tannins and slightly earthy aromas from this very drinkable Barbaresco, 100% nebbiolo. Definitely some aging potential. — 9 days ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of dinner. I’m just going to cut to the chase: the 2021 Serraboella is absolutely stunning. The wine pours a beautiful ruby color with a brilliant, transparent core; medium+ viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with gorgeous, concentrated notes of ripe red and dark fruit: Morello cherry, roses, talcum powder, dry earth and exotic Eastern spices. On the palate, the wine is bone dry with high tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. This is a sapid Barbaresco with a finish that lasts FOR-EV-ER. There is so much power and grace. So much balance. In such a special vintage, the Cigliuti sisters allowed their fruit from Serraboella to become a wine that is sure to become legendary. Drink now through 2061. — 8 days ago
"Odedi"
Light red in color with a strong nose.
Medium bodied with medium plus acidity.
Dry on the palate with nice complexity.
Showing red fruits with earth, dark chocolates, peppercorn, herbs, light oak and light vegetables.
Nice finish with round tannins and tangy raspberries.
This young Barbaresco from Piedmont needs a few a years in the bottle to mature properly, but already enjoyable, even by itself.
Will continue to age nicely in the next 10 to 15 years. Would be nice to revisit it in 5 years.
100% Nebbiolo grapes were aged for 2 years in French and Austrian oak barrels.
14.5% alcohol by volume.
90 points.
