Cacadu Ridge

Desire Lines Wine Co.

Shake Ridge Ranch Syrah 2017

It’s pretty easy to over-do Syrah in this location. Desire Lines does a phenomenal job of keeping dessert-like pleasure and seriousness of terroir in check. Lifted and fruited like a modern northern Rhône or Cru beaujolais with a little less seriousness to boot but also this is young and booming. Held straight for 5 days. Get the feeling that this will resolve very slowly over time to show more what earthy and cool characteristics it has in its hand. This wine feels extremely stable and a kaleidoscope of possibilities lay herein. — a day ago

Geyserville Sonoma County Zinfandel Blend 2008

Blackberries, cedar wood, cherries and white pepper. Missed the peak window on this as the finish has faded a bit but still ample fruit. Was still really nice. — 7 days ago

Such a crazy wine. Bought one of these earlier this year when tasting at Bevan. Found it to be the most wild, and Russell-esque, out of the lineup!

Ribbon Ridge Estate 2017

13.1%. Dark fruit on the nose. Seems dark to me in the glass. Hint of sweetness - figs. Dark cherries bright and juicy with good acidity. Burgundian in style. This is impressive! Very well done! I would buy this - from the San Diego Wine Co. . This should be available in other retail stores and from the winery it’s worth to seek out. — 11 days ago

The Beaux Frères Vineyard Pinot Noir 2017

More Burgundian than some wines from burgundy. Excellent Oregon Pinot. Subtle red fruit with earthen palate. Love this producer — 8 days ago

Needed a couple days to open but only 12.5% abv and very Burgundian. Cherry and anise showing through on the re-visit. — 2 hours ago

Alder Springs Vineyard Syrah 2013

Typical Pax Wines stink(yess). Black fruit dominate the palate with some underlining earth tones. At least 15 second finish. — 5 hours ago

Lytton Springs Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel Blend 2014

Deliciously old school, structured, restrained Zin. Nose has pure spicy blackberry fruit, a whiff of maple syrup, and some almost Tuscan-style dry gravel underneath. Full flavored but with zero jamminess, it’s got the acid and tannin and ripeness to age for many more years. A classic. — 18 days ago
