The palate on this was rocking from the first minute in the decanter but the nose took some time to come around. Initially the nose was very balsamic and one dimensional but over the course of 90 minutes it developed scents of forest floor, dusty mahogany, and macerated cherry. Palate is amazing, with intense, sweet dark cherry fruit, moist humus, savory minerals, and old barrel notes. Great concentration counterbalanced with softness of texture and decent acids. Great length and purity. Superb. — 16 days ago
Well.... I’m an idiot. I opened this way to early, but was so curious. It’s a bit closed at the moment (not surprisingly at its age), olive tapenade, dried herbs, plum, dusty minerality, chalk, vanilla, big tannins and noticeable alcohol. Again, my bad for not waiting, will be awesome. — 17 days ago
This California red blend is always enjoyable. Showing black fruits with chocolate notes, tobacco, vanilla, licorice, wood and spices.
Full bodied and bold with medium acidity.
Dry and extremely fruity on the palate with a nice mouthfeel.
Showing mild complexity and easy drinking, so watch out.
15.5% alcohol by volume.
