Reserva Rioja Tempranillo 2020

2020 vintage. Unspectacular but solid and keeps coming like the antagonist in a horror movie. Can't stop. Won't stop. Medium/medium-heavy body. Fruit and tannin balance currently. Under $20 USD resto cost. 8.12.26. — a month ago

Imperial Gran Reserva Rioja Tempranillo Blend 2005

This is the best bottle of wine I’ve had from my cellar in years. Nearly perfect. Bought it in 2008 for $30 and one of my great finds. Good lord it was just divine. I’m sure there have been better vintages but I can’t imagine it. — 5 months ago

The Electric Pfalz Acid Test Chardonnay

A fabulous Tuesday night wine, particularly at this price point. This mixture of chard and Riesling works so well… and as others have said, the label alone should make you love this wine! Cheers! — 9 months ago

Cune Organic Rioja Tempranillo Blend 2019

Blend of 60% Grenache, 30% Tempranillo & 10% Graciano, aged for 6 months in used oak, for this debut offering, deep Ruby with aromas of red fruits, floral and spice. On the palate flavors of cherry and red plum with licorice and floral spice. Medium+ finish, fine tannins, good acidity balance, ending with fruit and mineral character. — 5 years ago

Imperial Reserva Rioja Tempranillo Blend 2016

Ming L
9.3

The nose is immediately captivating with lush crème de cassis and dark cherries, intertwined with the more reserved, classic aromas of sweet tobacco, leather, and dried herbs, and a whisper of coconut. The palate is full-bodied and intense with powerful core of dark fruits reined in by a backbone of crisp acidity and silky tannins. The sweet oak spices and dark berries on the long finish is of particular satisfying.

It will continue to evolve and reward cellaring for another decade, if not longer.

Monopole Blanco Seco Viura 2024

100% Viura white Rioja. Bright light yellow color. Aromas of orchard fruit, white flowers and citrus. Flavors of green apple and pear fruit, lemon zest, pineapple and a hint of banana peel. Touch of both salinity and minerality on the medium (and slightly creamy) finish. Low acidity and a bit flabby. Medium bodied. Fresh and clean with a smooth texture. May improve with some additional bottle age. — 5 months ago

Domaine Zind Humbrecht

Brand (Turckheim) Grand Cru Riesling 2015

Very enjoyable! With complexity but still easy to approach, has petroleum notes alternating with flowery and fruity. More on the ripe and even a tiny sweet side. — 10 months ago

45+ minute decant. Red color with some brightness. Stewed fruit and rhubarb dominate the nose. Juicy wine on the palate but fairly reserved. Medium minus depth and finish. Needed something to pair with Italian Sausages and this was fine. — a day ago

Reserva Cune Rioja Tempranillo Blend 2019

Bought with a discount at about 13 USD in equivalent Polish Złoty. It's a steal! The nose is very inviting with blackberry, black cherry, bacon, soy sauce, oak, a bit of tobacco too. What a nose ! The palate is very well made, with a great acid drive, some width, some matter, some nice blackberry and black cherry notes, some oily, a tiny bit thicker mouthfeel, some gentle, slightly drying tannins kick off in the rear, delivering a sandy layer over a very long, fruity, meaty, savoury finish that goes on for a very long while. This punches way above its price tag. Great stuff and even better than the 2020 I had some months ago. — 5 months ago
