Imaginador Itata Cinsault 2020

Give this one a proper 1.5 hour decant, tight, needs to relax. Also deserves proper wine glass, I used a glass tumbler.

Enjoying by the glass, it was fun to witness it unfold. Tight, earthy, tannic, and not very expressive at the beginning, later a floral and raspberry note showed up in the nose. Earthy on the pallet.

9.1 for my experience, could achieve 9.3 with proper handling.

El Corralón Vino de Paraje Grenache Syrah 2018

Big and full bodied. Juicy plums. Long finish with tannins coming in at end. Almost a bit of a floral/herbal quality on the nose. Super good for the price. — a year ago

Pencopolitano Cinsault País 2019

Dayum. Beautiful translucent ruby in color, this wine is so bright, lively, and fresh. Flavors of red fruits and cherry cola pop from the glass. This is a 50/50 blend of two grapes I seem to be favoring these days, so it's no surprise that I enjoyed this as much as I did. 50% Cinsault, 50% Paìs. 8/24/22. — 2 years ago

Vino Naranja Garnacha Malvar 2019

A med/med+ ruby-purple core. The nose is filled with mixed red to dark red fruits of cherry, blackberry, and currants. Subtle notes of spice come from the 70% stem inclusion and the syrah fruit. The highlight of the bouquet are these lifted and very aromatic floral tones that bring to mind violets and lilac florals, it adds an elegance and extra boost of complexity and draws the nose back a lot to get another whiff. On the palate, the wine is fresh, with excellent depth and length of flavors that sails into a sneaky, long, persistent and fresh finish. The acidity is more med+ than med, as are the fine, youthfully perceptible tannin. The body also feels perfectly in-between medium and med+. Delicious, complex, and a long, pretty finish, whats not to like? 92 now with potential up to 93 with a little more bottle age! — 2 years ago

Bodegas Juan Gil

Jumilla Red Blend 2019

Juan Gil Jiménez first built his winery in 1916 in Jumilla, and passed it down to his future generations. From 100% Certified Organic Monastrell (or Mourvèdre in France), in chalky, stony soils, aromas of dark berry fruits and woody spice. Aged 12 months in French oak, palate shows blackberry and plum with smoky wood flavors and notes of cacao and cinnamon spice. Soft ripe tannins, medium+ ending with a light toasty earthy character. Great value! Very nice! — 2 years ago
