Dog Point Vineyard combines experience of Ivan and Margaret Sutherland & James and Wendy Healy. Ivan and James met while working at Cloudy Bay Vineyards. Light straw with typical SB aromas adding a touch of floral mineral notes. On the palate flavors of melon and grapefruit with citrus and honeysuckle notes, generous acidity, great mouthfeel with long finish ending with a salty spice character. Exceptional wine! — 2 months ago
First bottle of the 2010. This is gonna be a really special wine but I think it need another 5-7 years. Tannins and softened, fruit is there, acidity is still strong, and don’t get me wrong it’s great now with a couple hour decant, but in a few years it’ll be really nice. Getting black, blue, and dark red fruit, ripe and juicy. Man so silky in the mouth. Graphite, stone, forest floor, cedar, hints of camphor, black licorice. Wonderful. Nice medium + finish. Really nice, only going to get better! — 3 months ago
Nice Pinot from SLO county, and I like this vintage better than the more recent ones I tasted. Layers of red fruit, nice acidity, long finish. Feels like I am standing in a strawberry field. — 2 days ago
Fresh citrus, orange minerality — a month ago
Enjoying a glass of Dr Loosen Blue Slate at sunset in the Polish Mountains after a good day of hiking. This doesn’t get any better..
The nose is a bit shy but shows citrusy touches, a bit of chalk, fresh white grape juice, white peach, white flowers. The palate is super fresh and precise despite some residual sugar. There are citrusy beams shining through and through, some grip in the rear, some lemon peel and a great, fresh finish that lasts for a while. It’s simple yet perfectly executed. A perfect sip to top up a great and active day. Life is good. — 3 months ago

Rocco’s takeout and a nice bottle. Not a bad Saturday night. Bonus that the wife is letting me call the ball after dinner. — a month ago

Not sure this is Napa Valley AVA, but I am sure it’s good. 50% Cab, 40% Zin, 10% Syrah. Deep color and deep red and blue fruit on the nose, nice graphite and gravel accents. Deep and soft in the mouth, but with lots of deeply buried tannin structuring things subtly. Clingy, rich finish. Quite a satisfying, um, tipple. — 10 days ago
