Excellent on a stand alone basis or in mimosas!! Slight brioche, caramel, butter, and a hint of apricot. Just as good at bottle opening as it was a couple hours later! — 2 years ago
Black cherry, raspberry, cassis, blackberry, eucalyptus and oak. Full-bodied and soft tannins. — 17 days ago
Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish /brick rim.
Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity.
Very dry on the palate with nice complexity.
Showing red and black fruits with light wood, spices, barnyard, blood, dried meats, dark chocolates, tobacco leaf, earth, herbs, peppercorn and licorice.
Nice finish with soft tannins and tangy raspberries.
This Single Vineyard Grenache from Walla Walla Valley is very stinky and austere on the nose.
Complex and very interesting, but not what I expected at all. Feels more like an old world wine.

I had a recent vintage a couple of years ago and it showed much better. Might just be this particular bottle, or it could be past its prime by now.
A good quality wine and still very drinkable.
13.2% alcohol by volume.

Tasted blind. Medium deep garnet ruby and medium garnet ruby rim . Quite cool and restrained , again lots of grafite and mineral , dark fruits . This is quite deep and dark spicy cassis , blackberry and sea spray , saline . Quite dense and robust on the palate again , lots of fine but ripe tannins. Very long , dense , cassis , cedar grafite saline finish . This is a complete and great example of 2005 , great balance and enormous length , the longest of all on show here. Drinkable now , but surely it’s best days are in the future , wait another 5 -10 years , will last well a further 20 - 25 if not more . The apex of 2005 ? For me this had to be the Latour , and an archetypal example of Latour no less . 1st place and the gold medal . — 8 days ago

I’d almost forgotten I had this lying in a forgotten corner of the cellar. It’s a blend of 35% Semillon 28% Roussanne, 16% Chardonnay 15% Chenin Blanc 6% Clairette. It’s delicious and has lots of character. Deep greenish gold color is striking. I love the nose: lanolin, pear, candle wax, a wee bit of honey, crushed rock. Deeply flavored. It’s got the weighty texture of the Semillon and Roussanne components in the fore. Lovely fruit up front transitions into a minerally finish with a nice bitterish note. Pretty decent acids. Love it! — 15 days ago
