At nearly 7 years old, the 2015 Pascal Jolivet Sancerre pours a golden color. On the nose, notes of bruised apple, ripened pear, honey and pineapple upside down cake. On the palate, bruised red apple, Bartlett pear, honey and clove. Decent acid. Long finish. I don’t usually age Sancerre…but I dig the expression that some age has brought. I paired very well with chicken fried rice. Drink now…unless you want to see how far it goes, you know, for science. — 4 years ago

The 2003 'Vina Tondonia' Blanco Reserva is a tremendous effort from a challenging vintage. Needing more than 30 minutes in the decanter to be fully expressive, this wine opens to aromas of beeswax, smoky oak, Bartlett pear and slight suggestions of fresh white flowers. This leads to flavors reminiscent of nutmeg, cardamom, cantaloupe, beeswax and green papaya. There is an gorgeous overall range of flavors that persist with an oily texture through the finish. A faint veil of yeast parts to reveal scents of fresh Bartlett pear and zesty lime that go on to inform an infectiously juicy, polished palate. Utmost delicacy from a mere 7.5 percent alcohol is allied with 55 grams of residual sugar that are supportive but not at all overbearing, and the sugar-acid tension in this bottling’s long, vibratory finish is both literally and metaphorically fruitful. Like the best Weiser-Künstler wines, dry or sweet, this displays a remarkable sense of transparency to myriad mineral nuances. (Whereas this wine has typically been raised in tank, this year there is a contribution from cask.) (David Schildknecht, Vinous, June 2017) — 8 years ago
So I wanted to try some more Arneis after the Cayega. This was at my local wine store and turns out I had tried it before ha ha but it was a 2016 vintage. Herbs and Bartlett pear on the nose. On the palate it’s light and zesty, almost fizzy. And tastes of apricot, sugared lemon and marzipan. Delightful! I ❤️ Arneis! — 4 years ago
Apple and Bartlett pear crispness. Easy drinking on any day of the week. It is organic too. Recommend immensely. Better than a lot of other Prosecco. As good as a DOCG classified wine but it is DOC. — 6 years ago
Really good and really smooth — 7 years ago
Big Bartlett pear nose. Pear and honeydew fruit forward. Ruby red grapefruit on the finish. — 8 years ago
Golden hay color and initially shy but interesting aromas of blanched almond, yellow apple, ripe Bartlett pear, eucalyptus, and celery that peak through as the wine warms.
The profile though is significantly richer, rounder and has oily abundant flavors of yellow apple and almond underneath a dusting of vanilla spice (from significant time spent in barrel).
It’s shy upfront but the palette is powerful and even slightly hot. — 8 years ago
Great to mix with champagne to spice up the morning mimosa — 8 years ago
Helping a chef with a Smith Madrone tasting. This is a very nice Riesling that exhibits apples, peach and some bartlett pear. Just a bit of acidity and you will get a fair hint of oil on the nose, not in a bad way. We gave it a good 1 hr decant and didn't serve it too chilled. Light acidity and a full mouthfeel. 7 year bottle aged and drinking nicely. — 2 years ago
Very old white wine. Golden hue. Smells a bit like golden delicious apples, Bartlett pear, honey and sweetened lemon. Flavors are hint oxidized, but still tart and bright. Plenty of citrus. Lots of tannin. This is adventurous and delicious white. Wonder what it was like closer to 2014. At this stage it’s a bit like my favorite kind of Chardonnay. Smooth and round, but zippy too. — 2 years ago

Bartlett Pear eau de vie. (Lot PB-08)
This will be my initial experience with this bottle after passing it in my local shop numerous times and pondering the eventual purchase.
Ok... Just like everything else made under the roof at St. George's, this is crazy juice, nose is intense peeled pear skin and the palate has the truest expression of pear I've ever known. All this is distinctly Bartlett Pear, no question. Wow, perfect close to the evening. — 8 years ago
