Baptista Maresh Vineyard

Arterberry Maresh

Dundee Hills Pinot Noir 2024

Third generation grower Jim Maresh launched his own brand in 2007. Maresh Vineyard was first planted in 1970 by grandparents Jim & Loie. Medium Ruby color with aromas of aa array of red berry fruits with a touch of cooling mint. On the palate cherry and berry fruits, well structured, with a touch of rustic spice. Fine dusty tannins, balanced with acidity, medium-bodied, long finish ending with earthy mineral character. Very Nice! — 6 days ago

Does this compare at all to the 00 Wines? I get a decent amount of reduction on those wines with a medium bodied profile.

@Shay A interesting question! I’ve only had a couple bottles of 00, but they struck me as having a more distinct, reductive signature (maybe like a PYCM in Burgundy). There was only a touch of reduction on this Tan Fruit bottle.

'Mareesh Vineyard' Pinot Noir 2018

From Maresh vineyard planted over 45 years ago. Ruby with berry fruit and sweet nutty spice aromas. On the palate ripe strawberry and cherry fruit flavors with tea and licorice notes, lively acidity adding herb spices. Long finish, dry tannins that need some time, ending with bright mineral tones. Nice, but put this one in the cellar for a few years. Small production. BIGGEST FLAW: CORK IS EXPOSED AND NOT PROTECTED. Tasting Sample. — 6 years ago

Slightly too sweet and cloying for my personal taste, but still really well grown and impressive and original. #malvasia — 6 years ago

Maresh Vineyard Pinot Noir 2023

How do I say it with grace, poise, and within the bounds of decorum… The Dundee Hills of Oregon are calling to me. In speaking with my work-make Tommy, who has lived in Oregon and has proven to be a more than reliable source of insight concerning every & anything from Oregon: the Dundee Hills have me. Hell I think he’s warned me more than once about their playful nature yet their powerful foundations… add the 2023 Artberry Maresh ‘Dundee Hills” Pinot Noir out of the Willametter Valley to it all. From the start, the ruby color is mesmerising. The nose seems to wake up with every instance of dropping my own within it. The palate is mildly chewy and lush. As it warms in the glass and starts to tell of its true nature, deep notes of hibiscus and bramble-berry that only expand ring true. — 5 months ago

Smells like ripe blackberry bramble.
Tastes of the bramble as well. Cran Pom pops, and offers a very long lovely finish. Tart fruit with high acid lingers for a very long time.
A nice wine to enjoy the last of the summer days.

Your review reminded me of an older UK series "Last of the summer wine.". Nice memory as there were many beloved actors in the series. Cheers!🌻
