Very nice indeed though with burgers at home. You can sense the viscosity on the nose, black and blue fruits, licorice and some feral meaty bits in the background.
Drinks exceptionally smoothly, most of the tannins resolved. The viscosity on the palate is balanced by enough acidity to keep it in balance. Black/blue fruits repeat with a hint of chewiness, coating is an understatement. Long finish. Leather and coal tar(?). Interesting that these have such a decently long lifespan. When kept on some ice/water during the meal, it improves as a whole as the temperature drops a few degrees. The thickness recedes a bit and acidity shines up front.
Shame I have no more.

Last ‘17 in cellar! In the heart of the Chianti lies Estate of Sette Ponti, 15 miles northwest of the city of Arezzo, past village of San Giustino Valdarno. Has 10% Merlot, aged in French Allier barriques, deep Ruby with red fruit aromas and floral notes. On the palate blackberry, plum and cherry flavors with blossom notes, spice and fine integrated tannins. Good balance, long finish ending with some oak and mineral tones. Nice! Will age a bit more! Traditional method, 100 % Sangiovese. Lovely clear strawberry color. Dry and medium plus acidity. Cranberry and cherry with bit of rose or violet floral notes and a nice mineral quality. Bubbles are a bit aggressive but all in all very enjoyable! — 8 years ago

Vintage 2020 | My goodness, this mocca bomb is terrific! Compelling smell with wagonloads of mocca, but also black pepper, milkchocolate, cedar and vanilla. This is a very charming smallish winery in Tuscany. Their approach is counterintuitive in that their wine is not necessarily meant to be cellared and the are producing merlot and Sauvignon blanc in a place where you don’t normally see it. Sette Ponti or "seven bridges," refers to the 7 bridges crossing the Arno River on the road from Arezzo to Florence. Blend of 50% Merlot, 40% Cab Sauv & 10% Petit Verdot, aged 18 months in new French oak. Went to a tasting, had ‘14 & ‘15 side by side. Very dark enticing red with concentrated aromas of dark fruits & earthy notes. Flavors of cherry & plum with tobacco and spice. Firm but approachable tannins, medium length ending with a bit of spice as the finish builds. Best to drink ‘14 now. Tasting Sample. — 8 years ago
