Late release from the winery last year. — 5 months ago
Bright this back from the AMA Bordeaux cruise. 2018 vs previous 2016 vintage. Bouquet of soft sour cherries! Dusty dry upfront of tannic dark sour cherries. Soft dusty finish. Nice old world flavors. — a year ago

Slightly less bright appearance , medium ruby core , wider ruby rim . Slightly more herbal in character , darker fruits perhaps . Cassis , dried herbs , grafite , cedar, seaside hints. Slightly more austere too . On the palate this has a little more dark fruit than expected , with darker cherry , cassis, dried herbs and a slight medicinal , black tea, anis tinge . Slightly more edgy , grippy tannins and good acidity, not perhaps as fresh as the 2021 . Pretty good depth and intensity too . Good mineral , grafite tinged finish . Slightly more advanced in comparison to the 2021 . This also needs time , quite austere in character with more grippy tannins . Will continue to improve over the 5 years and last well a further 10. — 13 days ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed with a selection of cheeses. The 2007 pours a deep amber color with a transparent core; medium+ viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with unctuous notes of dried apricot, honey, and candied nuts. On the palate, the wine is sweet with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose, the finish is long. Seems like it will have a long life. Drink now through ????. — 6 months ago

A little more expensive at 40 bucks but absolutely delicious. — a month ago
I mean this wine is so money. Smooth, fruity, Italian rusticity in the best way. Unbelievable — 2 months ago
I suppose since this is Castello di Ama I shouldn’t be surprised it’s very good. Gobs of ripe fruit and freshness on the nose, with a nice crushed rock background. In the mouth, it’s dry, fresh as heck, and has good concentration and balance. Totally dry. Phenomenal with Chinese takeout on a warm evening. — 3 years ago

Hard to follow an 09 Scallop Shelf. Bright. Fruity. A bit flabby in the middle. — 6 years ago

Slightly less deep appearance, hints of garnet and a more terracotta rim . More advanced obviously with dried herbal hints , black tea , cedar , menthol, less fruits but some earthy dried cherry , cassis notes too. On the palate this shows more dried fruit character , dried cherry, dried herbs , black tea, cedar . Fresh acidity and fine tannins , saline and mineral on the palate . Good length and intensity, this is showing well at the moment . Will continue to give pleasure at this level over the next 5 -8 years — 13 days ago
