Cœur de Cuvée Rilly-la-Montagne 1er Cru Brut Champagne Blend 2008

Young still. Lemon and steel. Rounded and lush with sweet edges. A long time ahead with this and not showing its structure yet but delicious. — 2 months ago

Assumed this would be over the hill at this point but it was in a perfect spot of harmony. A pleasant surprise! — 6 months ago

Emotion Brut Champagne Pinot Noir - Chardonnay Rosé Blend 2012

Emotion unveils orange oil, red berries, bruised red apple, barberry, almonds, wet mouldy cellar and sausage roll (sic!). A bit disturbing and tempting at the same time. Pointy, oily and racy. Nice chalky finish.

Cuvée Rubis 1er Cru Brut Champagne Blend

Perfect for Valentine’s Day. First things first, this is a stunning salmon rose color in the glass. Persistent perlage with a creamy mousse. Tiny little bubbles. A terrific red fruit bouquet showcasing wild strawberry, orange peels, and red cherries. Purple flowers and dried herbs compliment. But I just cannot get over this striking color.

Pure sex in a bottle. Not dainty or waifish at all, there’s some serious muscle here to go along with the innate finesse. Disgorged 10/19 with a 9 g/l dosage, the striking acidity takes care of that and provides a smooth experience on the tongue. 90/10 PN/CH this is one of the standout Rosé champagnes around. Never cloying despite the dosage, everything here is perfectly balanced and structured. Just splendid really.

Sensual in the mouth, you get a full blast of red fruit on the palate. That 15% of still red wine really shows here. Grapefruit and dried cherries are dominant with a little strawberry joining in. Peaches and cream with herbs. Medium long finish. An outstanding grower that really is a cut above the rest.

Grande Réserve Brut Champagne Blend

A glass before dinner. Really fell in love with this producer during my visit in October 22. I like the style of their cuvées and their neutral wood use. They are a producer that ferments in wood more than most.

The nose shows; overripe pineapple, very ripe yellow peach, Bosc pear, mix of red & green apple, white citrus blend, touch of apple cider, brioche, bread dough, saline, sea fossils, withering yellow lilies and spring flower bouquet.

Nice mouth entry, juicy and round. very ripe yellow peach, overripe, juicy yellow peach, nectarines, ripe Bosc pear, mix of red & green apple, white citrus blend-white & pink grapefruit dominant, touch of apple cider, some marmalade, honey notes, brioche, bread dough, vanilln & caramel hues, baguette crust, saline, sea fossils, understated, soft chalkiness that presses the palate on the long set, soft raw ginger, white pepper, withering yellow lilies and spring flower bouquet, round rainfall acidity, nicely, structured, well tensioned, balanced & elegant finish that lasts a full minute.

Perfect w/ Almond Tart finishing.

Photos of; the gate into Vilmart, one of the many stained glass pieces made by the owner in their tasting area, their barrel room and house’s exterior.

Grand Cellier 1er Cru Brut Champagne Blend

Chablis-like restraint in a very good way. Nose is tense, citrus and lots of limestone, an almost reductive floral nose and a touch of silky softness to balance. Acidity is high but not crazy, strange considering the house style is supposedly to inhibit all malo. Great stuff, I want to drink lots of it — 2 years ago

Coeur de Cuvée Grand Cellier Champagne Blend 2015

Stunningly unique. Stone-floral purity on the nose, much more mineral than autolytic. On the palate the texture is spellbinding and unique: the weight “caves in” in the middle of the to give, leaving a super light body and a ring of intense aromatics around it, with layers on stone and laser acidity persisting. Hard to describe but so obviously recognizable — 5 months ago

Coeur de Cuvée 1er Cru Champagne Blend 2001

Vibrant golden yellow color

👃Apples:very ripe and bruised as well.
Biscuit, butter, lanolin, honey, & florals. Bold & elegant

👅Quite vinous champagne. Enough substance, backbone, & flavor to deliver a great drink. Fruit from start to the long finish: Apples, lemon, orange liquer, & pastry

Great with an aged gouda and a robusto 🧀

Solid performer at 22 years from a champagne vintage without laurels. Bravo! 🥂🍾

Grand Cellier 1er Cru Champagne Blend

New Years 2021. Toasty notes on the nose. A very long, astringent finish. High acidity. Green fruit flavors, like biting into a crisp apple. Gets nuttier as it opens up. 2019 disgorgement. — 2 years ago
